The contestants of the popular singing reality show Indian Idol season 15, Ritika Raj, Ranjini Sengupta, and Chaitnya Devadhe, had a special conversation with Mayapuri magazine’s journalist Shilpa Patil. In this interview, they opened up about their experiences on the Indian Idol stage, how contestants support each other, and what fans can expect in the upcoming episodes. Here’s what they had to say.

How has your Indian Idol journey been so far? What have you learned from everyone here?

Ritika: For all three of us, it’s a very special opportunity to surprise the audience with our performances. We are really enjoying this experience because every time we sing a new song, we learn something new. On the Indian Idol set, we get a chance to learn so much. Whether it’s from Shreya Ma’am, Vishal Sir, or Badshah Sir, it’s been a great learning experience.

Chaitanya: This platform is teaching us a lot. Not just from the judges, but also from our fellow contestants. We’re getting inspired every week, and there’s always something new to learn. We’ve all formed a great bond with each other.

Ranjini: For me, this is a completely new experience. I completed all my schooling in Kolkata. Here, I’ve learned so much from the judges and fellow contestants. Meeting new celebrities on the Indian Idol stage has also been an incredible opportunity. Overall, my experience on Indian Idol has been amazing, and there’s nothing I would consider bad about it.

How do you feel when you are called by different names on stage? And when you hear words like ‘Dhakad’ and ‘Fadu’ after your performances, what’s your reaction?
Chaitanya: Yes, this performance was really special for me. When Vishal Sir and Shreya Didi praise our performance with words like that, it makes us so happy. Hearing such compliments makes us feel that our hard work has paid off.

Ritika: The personality you see on stage is exactly who I am in real life. That’s the beauty of this show – everyone supports each other. There’s no jealousy among the contestants. On stage, it doesn’t feel like there’s competition. It feels like all the contestants are from the same house, encouraging each other.

Ranjini: We all live together in harmony. We are not just contestants; we are like a family. Whenever someone needs help or struggles with a song, we all support each other. Even on stage, there’s no competition. We encourage each other to do well.

What can we expect in the upcoming weeks? What will be special for the audience?
Ranjini: In the upcoming episodes, you can expect some truly surprising performances from us. While we can’t reveal which songs we’ll be singing, we can tell you that it will be a lot of fun. The format of the show is a bit different this time, so expect something new and exciting.

Chaitanya: Yes, the upcoming episodes are going to be really special. Everyone has performed so well, and you won’t believe the songs we’ll be singing. You’ll be shocked!

Ritika: We’ve all stepped out of our comfort zones and are doing something completely new. This will surprise the audience, and they won’t expect the kind of performances we are going to deliver.

What would you like to say to your fans?
Chaitanya: Thank you so much for your support from the very beginning. I hope you continue to support us as we move forward in the show.

Ritika: I believe we are like a family, and I hope you take us all the way to the finals, so we can entertain you with many more great songs.

Ranjini: I never thought I’d have fans, but now that I do, it feels surreal. For me, my fans are like family. I hope you continue to bless us with your support.

They always remind the contestants to take criticism positively and use it to grow.

Ranjini Sengupta has earned the title of ‘Queen of the Indian Idol Multiverse’, and Chaitnya Devadhe has been dubbed the ‘Doka Phodu Performer’ by the judges. Ritika Raj, a standout contestant, is also in the top 5.
