Interview with Pankaj Berry – Tenali Rama Season 2

Sony SAB's beloved TV show Tenali Rama is all set to make a comeback, and this time, the show promises to bring more fun and entertainment. Popular actor Pankaj Berry will reprise his iconic role as Thathacharya, breathing life into the character once again. In an exclusive interview with MayaPuri Magazine, Pankaj shared his thoughts on the new season, the show’s success, and much more.

Pankaj sir, how happy are you with Tenali Rama's return? What are your feelings about the love the show has received from the audience?

I am really very happy. First of all, I would like to greet all the viewers of MayaPuri. A heartfelt thank you to Sony SAB and their entire team, as well as to the writers and producers of Tenali Rama. This show is not just about entertainment; it carries a good message for society, which makes it special. I am genuinely delighted that this show is returning to the audience.

You gave up a film for this show. Could you tell us more about that?

Yes, I left a very good film. It was a fantastic role, but I was unable to manage my dates properly. So, I decided that my priority should be Tenali Rama. The character I play in this show is very significant, and I want to dedicate myself fully to it.

What new twist can we expect between Tenali Rama and Tathacharya in this season?

This time, the rivalry between Tathacharya and Tenali Rama has intensified. Tathacharya has decided that he will not let Pandit Ramkrishna get close to Raja Ji. He will do everything in his power to ruin his image. The audience can expect an even more thrilling conflict as not only will there be fights, but misunderstandings will also be cleared. The show will continue to have humor, love, and warmth, making it more engaging than ever.

What do you think is the key to the long-running success of Tenali Rama? Why do you think the show has become so popular?

The main reason behind the show's success is that it is far from ordinary. Nowadays, many shows come and go, but Tenali Rama has managed to stay in the hearts of the audience. It not only provides entertainment but also imparts education. This show brings people of all ages together—from children to adults. It is something the entire family can watch together, which is quite rare today. People are watching it with their families and learning valuable lessons. This is why it has had such a long and successful run.

What message would you like to give to your audience?

I always say, if you are the audience, we are here because of you. We owe everything to your love, blessings, and affection. I hope you continue to support us so that we can keep entertaining you in the same way. May God bless you all. Stay happy, healthy, and keep yourself busy with good things.

Tenali Rama Season 2 will be airing from December 16, at 8 PM on Sony SAB. Along with Pankaj Berry, the show will feature Krishna Bharadwaj,  Aditya Redij, and Sumit Kaul.
