How excited are you about this story and its re-release? Anupam: We are very excited! We’ve been jumping with joy since morning. This is not just any film; it’s a very special one. The more people watch it, the more they will love it. It’s a cult classic—a film you can watch again and again. It never feels old. As long as there are people trying to grab someone’s land, such films will keep being made. Every situation in this film has a corresponding dialogue. The current generation will relate to it even more, especially since scams have existed long before the digital age.Speaking of characters, there are no clichéd roles here. The head of the family isn't just a very honest person; he compromises too. The elder son wants to go abroad, the younger son feels out of place, and the daughter has her own issues. Every character is clearly defined. The storytelling, character arcs, star cast, and dialogues are all exceptional. The relationships portrayed in the film are fascinating.Ranvir: Gen Z is well aware of online scams, but by watching this film, they'll understand the history of scams. The family relationships depicted in this movie remain the same today, which is what makes it a cult film. Even after 18-20 years, the dynamics in families remain similar. What we showcased in the film is still relevant today. Share some memories related to this film. Ranvir: I still remember the dialogues and everything that happened during the shoot. We played a lot of games while filming. Anupam sir's friends used to come to visit him on set. He was like the father of this film, motivating everyone.Anupam: We formed lifelong relationships through this film. We faced financial issues during production, and at one point, the entire team was thrown out of the hotel due to non-payment. The producer was selling off his belongings to keep the film going. When can we expect a sequel to this film? Anupam: We have no information on that. However, it has been mentioned that if the re-release goes well, a sequel might happen. With the current trend of re-releasing good films, which films do you think should be released again? Ranvir: Getting a re-release in cinemas isn’t easy, which is why people praise OTT streaming. But now, even OTT faces issues. As streaming websites multiply, the distribution challenge continues. The number of filmmakers is increasing, but distribution platforms remain limited.
