Meiyang Chang is an actor, television host, singer, and dentist. He appeared as a contestant in the third season of the singing reality show Indian Idol, in which he was one of the five finalists. Let us tell you that Meiyang Chang started his acting career with Yash Raj Production's film 'Badmaash Company'. Apart from this, he participated in and won season 4 of the dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. Apart from the dance reality show, he also participated in season 6 of the reality show 'Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi' and became the first runner-up. Meiyang Chang has also acted in films like 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi', 'Sultan', and 'Bharat'. Apart from films, Meiyang Chang has also worked in web series like 'Asur', 'Undekhi' and 'Modern Love Mumbai'. Meiyang Chang Reflects on Diverse Journey

You came into the industry as a singer, and after that, you did hosting, won a dance reality show, and also did acting. How do you look back at this amazing journey of yours?

I consider my journey a very blessed journey. To be honest, when I first came, I just wanted to do something different. If you see the slam book of my school or college, there is a section where what you want to become in the next five or ten years and all I had in my mind was that no matter what I become, I always want to continue singing because singing is something that I have been doing since childhood. I have inherited singing from my dad, he is very fond of singing and hence I am very fond of singing. When this opportunity came to me, I felt that this was a very good opportunity, this way I could continue my singing. We didn't know how long we would be here because there are many people of our generation in the entertainment industry, we are called only when they need people who look Chinese, and many of my relatives whom I know do this, but no one has worked full time in this industry, I am the only one who is doing this. Never thought that I would get a chance to come so far. I have always been fond of singing, used to sing in school and college, and won many awards, but the world is very big and there is a lot of competition in it. When you go out, you come to know that many people have taken training for many years, or they are naturally very talented and some people have their style. There is only one mantra in my life and that is to be happy in whatever you do. I know that there is a lot of competition, some people can replace me, maybe I can replace some people, and I feel that I want to take forward the specialty that is within me. And maybe that's why first I switched from singing to hosting, then to dancing and acting, it's not that I got these things easily, I have worked very hard for them. My luck favored me and then I just showed my magic.

You have entertained your fans in different ways, and now your song 'Jhoothi Chai' has also been loved by the audience, what would you like to say about it?

The audience likes some songs very much. This song is a sweet romantic song and has a very catchy and different name, and the reason for this is that you share Jhooti Chai only with those with whom you are comfortable or especially when you fall in love with someone. The background of this song is that it came from heartbreak, but we decided that we would make it a sweet and lovely song and not make it a sad song at all because there are a lot of sad songs in our country. I did not want to do this because many such songs have come. Even if your heart is broken, how can you deal with it positively? This song is based on that. It's about all the memories you've shared with your special someone, and it tells you that whatever happened happened, and what didn't happen happened for the good too, you have those beautiful memories. People liked the title of the song very much, and people also asked why I had given the title ‘Jhoothi Chai’ and not Jhoothi Chai. The reason behind doing this was that this song ‘Jhoothi Chai’ shows the intimacy and trust of our relationship and it was called false because it could not move forward. Tea is a part of everyone's life, our day cannot pass without it. We wanted to equate tea and love, and all the memories you share with that special one. People have liked the song and its concept very much. I think simplicity works best in anything.

Meiyang Chang's Return to Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11

You recently went to support Anjali Anand in season 11 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Did you feel like returning home because you have also been the winner of that show?

To be honest, I was very stressed because out of all the things I have seen in so many salons, this was the toughest one. The reason for this is that when I went to Jhalak, there used to be non-dancers also, and it was like a journey of growth for them. Now when I see the glimpse, if there are 13 contestants, all of them are better dancers than each other, and it is difficult to choose any one winner. I have very good memories of Jhalak because I didn't know how to dance, but I felt that if I worked hard then I would learn, and I think this is for everything in life, if you work hard then it will work. You will get the result. It was great to be back on Jhalak, Malaika ma'am is there now, she is judging this season too. She was also a judge of my season. Met many old choreographers. I used to be very friendly with my choreographer because I knew that my life was in his hands, I would do whatever he asked, and he knew how I could do better. It was great to see him back. Anjali and I have a very old friendship, I have always been telling her that she should go to Jhalak, you are a good dancer, you are also a filmy person and this show is the best for you, and Anjali always used to say the same, what should I tell her? He is not calling me. And I told her that one day they would definitely call you and you would go there and do your best. It was very sweet because there was a theme in the show in which you had to call out anything or people who have been your first, and I was Anjali's first co-star, we had done a web series long ago, in this case, He had a lot of options but he called me. I was very happy to support him. I believe that she is very hardworking, and she deserves people's love. I also sang on the show, danced a little, and felt great going back to the sets of Jhalak. I want to wish Anjali all the best.

You have also worked in many web shows, would you like to say something about your upcoming project?

‘Ulajh’ is a diplomatic and patriotic thriller film. This is the story of some people who are in the Indian Foreign Services. It was only when I got this script and did research on it that I realized how much had happened. There is so much that goes on in diplomacy in the Foreign Services that we do not know about. We can say many things while sitting that this is not happening or that is not happening, but sometimes very difficult decisions have to be taken. I can't say anything more than this, but I think this is going to be a very good project, and people will like it. The cast of the film is very good, Janhvi is in the film, and Gulshan Devaiah is in the film whom I like very much. There is Roshan Mathew whom I met during this film and he is a very good actor. I have seen most of his Malayalam films but not many of his Hindi films. The team in the film is very good. Shreya Dev Dubey is the cinematographer of the film, Sudhanshu is the director of this film, and Sudhanshu is a very committed, convincing, and cheerful director. I enjoyed doing this film a lot. I hope people will like this film.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone, because you have supported every small and big work of mine. And when this feedback comes from you, then I come to know what is going well or what is going bad, and what can be improved at which places. Thank you wholeheartedly to those who supported me from the beginning and also to those fans who are supporting me now. Those who have been associated with me since the beginning know me as a singer, and those who are new fans know me as an actor. Many people are surprised that I do both acting and singing.
