Pari Sharma on 'Merry Christmas': Sharing the Bond with Film's Cast

The lovely Pari Sharma, who played the role of Katrina's daughter in Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi's film 'Merry Christmas', shared some memories related to the film. Let us tell you what kind of connection Pari had with the cast of the film.

Do you feel happy when people love you for your work?

There is a lot of happiness.

Your film 'Merry Christmas' has come out, so would you like to tell me about some memories related to it?

When I met Katrina Ma'am for the first time, I was a little nervous, at that time I did not know that Katrina Ma'am was an actor. When the director sir said that I had been selected for this role in this film, my mother cried a lot after seeing Katrina, ma'am. I was very happy when Katrina ma'am picked me up in her lap. I met Vijay Sethupathi sir on the sets.

Did you like the story of the film, Katrina is playing the character of your mother and she is trying to save you.

Whatever she did in the film was to save me, because Jerome, her husband, does not believe that I am his daughter. And she does all this to save me, the entire movie is on me.

How much did you enjoy shooting for the film?

Had a lot of fun. Katrina Ma'am used to make me sit in the vanity and feed her lunch, and Vijay Sethupathi sir used to have fun with me.

Would you like to tell us something about what you were feeling when you were shooting with Katrina ma'am for the first time?

I was a little nervous because I didn't know anyone on the set and my mother knew everyone on the set. There was Dani Ma'am on the set who told me to just call her Dani but I said no, I will call her Ma'am only. When I saw Vijay Sethupathi sir on the set, I was a little shocked because I have seen his films and I like him. I clicked a lot of pictures with Vijay Sethupathi sir because I like him a lot.

How was your experience working with Vijay Sethupathi sir the film's director and the entire cast?

Most of the scenes in the film are mine, the film starts with my character and ends with my character. It was a pleasure working with Vijay Sethupathi sir. I was selected by Ramesh Taurani sir.

During the interview, Pari's mother told about some stories related to Pari that happened on the sets of the film. She says, Pooja Ma'am, the writer of this film, lived with Shriram Raghavan sir, and initially, she gave a lot of chocolates to Pari so that she remained happy on the set. A house was built for Pari on the set in which all the toys were kept. Chocolate was also put on the Christmas tree there so that the fairy could perform the scene well. Katrina's ma'am would send her manager and call Pari to her vanity, feed her, and also teach her yoga.

In between her mother's talks, Pari got excited and said that she had talked to Katrina's entire family. She said that she had talked to Vicky Kaushal, Sunny Kaushal, and their parents.

Explaining this further, Pari's mother says that Katrina Ma'am had made Pari talk to her mother and her mother had also given Pari a lot of blessings. Katrina ma'am had also talked to her brother who lives in London. Vicky Kaushal sir used to come to the set every day and play and have fun with Pari and also brought chocolates for her. Katrina used to forbid Pari from eating so much chocolate, then Pari used to get Katrina ma'am to call Vicky sir, and Vicky sir used to tell Katrina, ma'am, "Let Katy eat, she is a child."

Pari's mother thanked the film's director Sriram Raghavan. Talking about this experience, Pari's mother says that this is the biggest experience of her life, I used to cry a lot when Pari was auditioning. When Pari was selected, they sent a vehicle to pick her up and when I reached there, there was a lot of security there. Vinay Pathak, Sanjay Kapoor, Katrina Ma'am, Vijay Sethupathi sir, and Rajamouli sir were also present there. When we went there, they clapped for Pari, and seeing all this I felt like crying. Katrina ma'am was newly married at that time, and she came and hugged me and asked why I was crying. Director Sir then came to silence me and said, “Your daughter is very good and will go far, and one day will leave even Deepika Padukone behind.” There was shooting all night and we used to pack up at five in the morning. Pari used to stay on the set the whole night, if Pari felt sleepy they would spray her so that she would not sleep. Many times Pari started crying due to sleep, we struggled a lot during this film.

Your biggest project to date is 'Mary Christmas', where your acting is also being praised a lot, what would you like to say about it?

My biggest project is ‘Merry Christmas’. And director sir told me that Pari has acted better than Katrina Ma'am and Vijay Sethupathi sir.

Who is your favorite actor?

My favorite actresses are Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt. My favorite actors are Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan.

With which other actors do you want to work in films?

I want to work with Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan.
