Why has Seher’s character been the most challenging so far?
Most of the characters I’ve played earlier were positive, happy-go-lucky, and boy-next-door types. But this character is completely different. He has gone through deep trauma, keeps himself distant from the world, and is emotionally very layered. He doesn’t care about what people think of him. When love enters his life, he doesn’t change overnight; instead, he moves forward slowly and thoughtfully. This gradual and realistic growth makes the character challenging.

What made you return to television after a long gap?
Before committing to any project, it was important to completely trust the story and the character. Many times on television, what is narrated is different from what is executed on screen. Therefore, it was essential to work with a team I trusted. Since the creative director and the team were already familiar, there was confidence that no compromise would be made with the character or the story.

Why is there so much focus on the Urdu language in the show?
Language is the soul of this story. Correct pronunciation, the right tone, and the right words were extremely important. That’s why Urdu was learned seriously, and an Urdu specialist was present on set. The effort was to not just deliver dialogues, but to feel them. Some Urdu words are incredibly beautiful to hear and to speak.

How is your on-screen bonding with co-actor Rishita Kothari?
Rishita Kothari is extremely talented and hardworking. This is her first show, yet her focus and dedication are clearly visible. She gives her complete attention to her character and fully trusts the director. Off-screen too, she is very simple and warm-hearted, which reflects in their on-screen chemistry.

How will this story connect with today’s generation?
The world, language, and time may change, but emotions never do. Jealousy, love, revenge, pain, and romance remain the same in every era. The only difference is how honestly these emotions are portrayed. If emotions are performed sincerely, every generation connects with them.

You’ve also worked in an iconic show like CID. How was that experience?
Working on CID was an extremely fun experience. There’s no emotional baggage—you focus purely on solving cases as an officer. Working with senior actors like Daya and Abhijeet was a learning experience. Initially, their aura was very impactful, but gradually I became comfortable with my character.

What is your perspective on love?
When it comes to love, my thinking is still very old-school. A connection from the heart, conversations that build relationships, and that feeling that “love is in the air”—that’s the true definition of romance. I still believe more in real connections than dating apps.

Why do you maintain distance from reality shows?
As an actor, my priority has always been to explore myself through different characters. I prefer to keep my personal life private and don’t feel comfortable being overly vulnerable in front of the camera. That’s why my focus remains on acting and performances.

How do you stay connected with your fans on social media?
It’s not possible to reply to every message, but I try to connect through live chats, likes, and comments. The love received on social media is very genuine and emotional—it truly touches the heart.
