Poonam Pandey talks about her new show 'Honeymoon Suite Room No 911'

What was your mother's reaction after watching this series?
She is very happy. She is proud of me, she knows that I am not passing time here, I am working. Whatever people say about me doesn't matter to her.
What kind of response have you received from people about this series?

It feels good when people praise your work. I have also received calls and messages from some good directors. It feels good when such people praise your work.

Your character in this series is independent and makes her own decisions, so were you able to relate to your character?

Taking one's own decisions and being cool is probably yes, but we both are completely different characters. I don't think I have ever heard her as much as my character listens to her mother. I was a very stubborn child. I have been like this since childhood, my actions have been like this and because of the amount of fun I used to have, I have been beaten a lot. But I was very good at studying. I was so good in my studies that my school fees were waived, and for this, my mother is proud of me. If we talk about the character, she is from Kanpur and is very clever. I enjoyed doing this character a lot. You get the most fun playing a character that is completely different from you. My acting coach Kulwinder Bakshi is also very happy with my performance. Whatever good response I am getting today is because of my performance. The story of the series is very good, all the actors are very good, and so everyone's work is yielding good results.

Recently a film was released in which after one scene the heroine became a national crush, so are you also waiting for such a role?
Yes, I am also waiting for such a role. By the grace of God, I have done good work so far. Right now I have four projects coming up.

Do you have any dream project that you want to do with a particular director or actor?
I want to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The way he shows his films on screen is amazing. I am a big fan of Rekha Ji's style and her elegance.
Is there any actor with whom you want to work?

Whenever you go to any event, the media and everyone else's attention go towards you. Media and people like you a lot, how do you deal with all this?

Ever since I started working in this industry, I have said that if anyone has made it in this industry, it is the media. I respect media people a lot. Whatever I am today is because of the media. If we talk about preparation for going to an event, it takes a lot of time but I am also very excited about that thing. When I meet the media, it feels like I am meeting my friends and family.

Do you feel that the reality show 'Lockup' is the turning point of your career?
Yes, ‘Lockup’ is the turning point of my career. Before that, I did not have much work. Before 'lockup' I saw the worst phase of my life. When I got the call for lockup, I thought someone was pranking me. Before that, when I did not have any projects, I started doing erotica-type projects because I had to do something to survive in Bombay.

There are only a few days left in 2024, so will you be seen with someone?
Not at all. I am very happy single and I am not at all lucky in terms of relationships.

How do you see the coming year professionally?
If I get a chance to do Bigg Boss, I will do it. I hope to keep working in the coming year and every year after that.
