Saanand Verma, who started his career by playing different characters in 'Lapataganj', worked in many television serials and films but Saanand Verma got his recognition by playing the role of Anokhelal Saxena in the serial 'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain'. With this serial, Saanand became famous in every household as Saxena ji. After showing his acting magic in films like 'Chhichhore', 'Babli Bouncer' and 'Mission Raniganj', Saanand will be seen in the films 'Vijay 69', 'Super Woman', and 'Meri Maa Karma'.

Saanand's Film Journey: From 'Chhichhore' to 'Meri Maa Karma'

The audience likes your character in the serial ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’, you have now become a household name. What would you like to say about this journey of yours?

To be honest, when I hear such things I become emotional because I am a very emotional person. I first realized that I had become a popular star when I went to Kanpur. I went to a school event in Kanpur where there were many people. I didn't know that such events even happened. They had also put up big posters of me there, at that time the whole of Kanpur was jammed. There I realized my fame for the first time. The audience there loved me as if I was Amitabh Bachchan. After that, when I came home, I kept crying for a week. I just kept thinking about what God had given me. I was that child who did not even have money for food. Even today, when I think about all this, I become very emotional. I feel that this is my journey, it is an amazing journey. This is a journey that very few people get and I consider myself very lucky that I have got this opportunity. Perhaps I might have done some good deeds and I have got the fruits of this today. When I went to London, people surrounded me in Piccadilly Circus. I cannot describe this journey of mine in words.

Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain

I started working at a very young age because the financial condition of our house was not good. I used to go to work in the fields with my father. I have seen a lot of struggles in life, and when I boarded a plane for the first time, I went straight to Singapore. I just keep thanking God as much as I can because all this is because of His kindness. If you ask me this question, what would you like to become in the next life, then I would say that I would like to become Saanand Verma in the next life also. Whatever I have got in this birth, I want it in every life. I always feel as if there is some invisible force holding my finger and taking me forward. I would like to live with this God and with this feeling.

You are playing a comic character in the serial 'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain', so where and when did you get interested in comedy?

Comedy developed slowly. Earlier I was more involved in singing, and as an actor also I used to copy Dev Saheb a lot. Comedy is a great art and making people laugh is a very difficult task. I think the most difficult thing in acting is comedy. You must have the talent to make someone laugh. In comedy, I have learned from time and life because life itself is the biggest comedy. We take life too seriously and do not understand the temporality of life. The day we understand that nothing is permanent, we will all understand life. I have learned a lot from life.

Saanand Verma

You are playing the role of a villain in 'Vijay 69', so will your comic style be seen in this also?

In this, I am playing the character of a journalist, and in this too I have given a touch of comedy. The comedy in this is a bit situational. My character is that of a cheap, dirty, and sellable journalist.

You have also worked a lot on OTT, so do you want to do some different roles apart from comedy?

Yes, one on OTT is my 'Vijay 69' and the other is the film 'Super Woman' which I have done with Tigmanshu Dhulia ji. I have a very positive character in 'Super Woman'. I am playing the role of a matchmaker in this film. I had done this type of character earlier also in Rajkumar Rao's film 'Hum Do Hamare Do'. My name in that film was Shadiram. Apart from this, I have done a film named 'Ghinni' in which I have played a hardcore villain. In this film, I am a venereal disease specialist doctor. Apart from this, I am also playing the role of a dangerous villain in the film 'Meri Maa Karma' to be released on 5th April. I always try to do something in whatever scene I am doing so that I can entertain people.

Anokhelal Saxena

Your one-liners are quite famous, so do you write them yourself or is it in the script?

Normally I write it myself. In my childhood, when I was 12 to 13 years old, I had written three novels of thousands of pages each. My father was a great writer, so I was also fond of writing. I use my writing talent in my acting with great pleasure. I improvise the script a lot so that I can entertain the audience. I can act without improvising, but sometimes it happens that the script is very well written and if I improvise in it, it will spoil its beauty.

film ‘Meri Maa Karma’ i

Your film ‘Meri Maa Karma’ is coming. What is its story?

The story of the film is very good. The film has been directed by Mrityunjay Singh. In Chhattisgarh, Mata Karma is highly revered. Many years ago the film 'Jai Santoshi Maa' was released which proved to be a huge blockbuster. After that film, lakhs of people started following Santoshi Maa. I think something like this can happen with 'Meri Maa Karma' also because Mrityunjay Singh has directed it in a very excellent style. He has shown our mythological stories in today's times in a very good way. Mother Karma invented the Khichdi that we eat today. ‘Meri Maa Karma’ is a small-budget film so it is not a highly marketed release. I hope this film will do wonders.

What would you like to say to your fans?

I would like to say that look at my every work and keep loving me like this. Be happy always.
