Naezy & Sana on ‘BAMAI’: Friendship, Rap & Bigg Boss

You both promised to collaborate and now we see you together in the song ‘BAMAI’. How was the reaction to the song?

Naezy – People were shocked. They didn’t expect that we would actually collaborate. No one knew we were making a song together, so when they saw it, they were excited and enjoyed it a lot.

Sana – Naezy is true to his word. He said he would do it, and he did. He wants success, and no one knew he was writing this song. When it came out, everyone was surprised.

This song is different in genre, especially considering your previous tracks. It’s about friendship. How was this a change for you?

Naezy – This was a completely different genre for me. I didn’t want to keep doing the same thing. As an artist, I wanted to try something new, so I decided to experiment. I was really interested in creating a song about friendship, especially one that focuses on a girl and a genuine connection. The whole process of making this song was fun, and I will definitely work on more songs like this in the future.

When you first heard that you would be doing this song with Naezy, and saw his shy and reluctant attitude in the video, how did you feel about the concept?

Naezy – I know Naezy well. I understand his shyness, his mood, and when he’s upset. But what really surprised me was that he stepped out of his usual style and wrote this song. I thought it was meant for me, but when he asked me to be part of it, I was shocked. Naezy kept surprising me!

After leaving Bigg Boss, you both built a strong friendship, which has become an inspiration for others. What does friendship mean to you?

Naezy – For me, friendship means standing together at a moment in time. It’s not about having any ulterior motives—no matter if it’s money or beauty. The intention and the heart behind the friendship are key. When the intentions are pure, the friendship grows. But when they’re not, it falls apart. Our friendship has always been pure, and we aim to set an example for others.

Sana – In our friendship, there’s never been any hidden agenda. We were together 24/7 in Bigg Boss and spent a lot of time together. After we left the house, we didn’t meet as often, but whenever we talk, everything feels just the same. There’s no hiding anything, no complaints. It’s simple, natural, and real.

In your song, there’s a line: "Usse pehli baar maine jab dekha usko, maine nazre neeche kar li, fera maine khud ko, andar ho ho raha tha kuch to, bachke rehna isse, keh raha tha main khud ko." Has something like this ever happened to you in real life?

Naezy – No, this was the first time.

Sana – This was more of a Bigg Boss experience. When I met him, I said in typical Mumbai style, “Hey, what's up, kid?” He was so stunned. He was left thinking, " Aur bacchi WhatsApp hai." It was totally surprising for him.

In the song, the lyrics resonate with many people, especially this generation. Did you relate to these lyrics?

Naezy: Yes, the way I am, the way I think, the way I was raised, and the way I interact with girls – it's all very pure and genuine. And that's exactly how I am in this song as well.

What’s common between the two of you?

Naezy: We're both foodies.

You started as a street rapper, and people knew a lot about your life. Now that you've become a big star and celebrity, do you miss the street life?

Naezy: I’m still living the same street life. Even though I’ve become a big celebrity, I still live in my hood. I still live that street life, and I want to continue living it this way. I love it. People respect me, and they don’t bother me. No one can disturb me.

As an artist, people like your work and image. How do you choose your scripts or songs?

Sana: As an artist, you can’t always do the same kind of work. You have to take on different characters. If I play a character and people remember it, that’s my hard work, and I want to do more such roles.

There’s a lot of diss culture in rap these days. Will you adopt it in your rap?

Naezy: No, I will never adopt it, and I would advise others not to either. It’s all negative, and I stay away from that. I prefer staying in positive vibes.

What upcoming projects do you have? What kind of songs can we expect?

Naezy: You’ll see a lot of projects coming soon. I still have many songs that I haven’t released yet. So, all of those will be out soon.
