Sanchet-Parmpara on Their Journey from Contestants to Judges on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

As the show infuses a digital touch this season, Sanchet and Parmpara shared their experiences from being contestants to becoming judges, and their expectations from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, in a special conversation with Maya Puri.

  • You are both seen as judges on a reality show. What would you like to say about this?

Sanchet- We feel very fortunate to make our TV debut with this show. We come from a time when we were contestants on reality shows, and now we are judges. Much has happened in between, but now it’s a new phase. This is all thanks to God and the blessings of our parents.
Parmpara- Our goal is to select the best singers from this show, so that we can work with them in the future.

  • How do you feel about your journey from contestant to judge?

Parmpara- I consider it quite normal because the stage is the same, just the position has changed. We used to be on one side, and now we are on the other. I hope that the contestants who come here elevate their careers from this stage.
Sanchet- The Sa Re Ga Ma Pa series has been running for around 30 years, starting with Sonu Nigam and including Shreya Ghoshal. This platform gives a lot to people. It’s a journey where you learn a lot. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is very special for all singers. If we can add anything as judges, it would be a great achievement.

  • What are your expectations from the contestants?

Parmpara- We hope the contestants surprise us every time. We want to see their growth, as the audience will want to hear their songs after the show. We are bringing this reality show to TV so that they can become the country’s superstars.
Sanchet- If the public likes you, they will give you work. If they know a song is yours, they will definitely want to listen to it, which is crucial for your life and career.

  • How strict do you plan to be as judges?

Parmpara- We haven’t thought about this yet. It all depends on the moment. This time, everyone has come well-prepared. They know how to present themselves and what their goals are. We are here to guide them if needed. This season, we have a lot of talented singers from every corner of the country. We’ll get to hear new voices and styles.

  • There are other judges on the show as well. What would you like to say about them?

Parmpara- I was very happy to know that Sachin-Jigar and Guru are also judging the show. It was thrilling for me. All the judges are doing exceptionally well in their careers.
Sanchet-  The set has great energy. We are understanding Sachin-Jigar and Guru better now. Sachin-Jigar are delivering one hit after another. This season’s judging panel is full of energy. On the set, we learn more about teamwork than competition.

  • What message would you like to give to the audience?

Parmpara- We would like to tell the audience to join our musical family. Our show will air on Zee TV every Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM.
