Srishti Jain talks about the show Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan
The promo of your show “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan” has recently come out and audiences loved it. What would you like to say about the show?
These days, most TV shows focus on the hero and heroine, but “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan” is one of those stories where every character is important. Everyone is interconnected. It’s like a beautiful web, and viewers will see a reflection of their own lives in it.
Tell us about your character Sahana. What is she like?
Sahana is a very sweet, innocent, and self-sacrificing girl. She is like a shadow of her mother, someone who even gave up her own studies to take care of the household and educate her younger sisters. She always thinks of others before herself and wants her sisters to study well and achieve great success in life.
How challenging was it to bring Sahana’s innocence and simplicity to the screen?
Honestly, this role is very different for me. Srishti and Sahana are poles apart. Sahana is extremely simple, whereas in real life, I am quite confident. So I had to work hard on her body language, way of speaking, and expressions. We tried our best to make everything look real, not like “acting.”
How has the shooting experience been?
It has been wonderful. Our bonding on set is like that of a family. Even the kitchen shown in the serial is real. We actually light the stove and cook food. This makes the characters appear even more authentic.
Do you enjoy cooking in real life?
Yes, I love cooking. My comfort food is dal and rice, and I also love ladyfinger (bhindi). I prefer simple home-cooked food over pizza or pasta.
What do you think about your look in the show?
This time my look has been kept completely real and simple. No stylization at all. When I first saw myself in this look, even I was surprised.
What message would you like to give the audience?
I sincerely thank you all for the love you’ve given me so far. Now I request you to give the same love to “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan.” The show will air on Zee TV from September 22 at 9 PM. I hope you all will definitely watch it.
