Stars’ Childhood Memories with Lotpot Comics – Sachin Parikh

Television actor Sachin Parikh, who plays the character of Prabhat in the TV serial Vasudha, recently shared some of his most cherished childhood memories and mischievous moments in an exclusive interaction with Lotpot Comics.

Question:  We all have memories connected to our childhood. You must have your own share of memories and mischief, too. Your fans would love to know how mischievous and playful you were as a child. Also, what did you do for entertainment back then?

“Mischief is another name for childhood, so being naughty was inevitable. But since I was my parents’ only child, I received a different kind of love and pampering. I grew up in Mumbai, and the true flavor of Bombay—travelling by local trains, roaming around on buses—was very much a part of my childhood. It was a truly beautiful phase of my life, which I still remember with great warmth.

As children, we used to watch cartoons like Spider-Man, He-Man, Doordarshan shows, and Mowgli. Mowgli was our absolute favorite, and we never gave it up. Today, when it comes to Motu Patlu, my daughter has been watching it since she was very young. When we watch Motu Patlu with her, it brings back our own childhood memories, and somewhere we all become children again. As far as Lotpot Comics and Motu Patlu are concerned, they are not just about entertainment—they carry inspiration, innocence, and a sense of nostalgia that takes both children and adults back to their childhood.”

He further added, “That was a time before social media existed. Whenever we spotted a star, we would run to get an autograph, and our eyes would light up with excitement. My father was associated with the theatre, which is why many artists frequently visited our home during my childhood. I got the opportunity to closely observe and learn from people like Paresh Rawal and Homi Wadia, who were actively directing theatre at the time. Scriptwriting, rehearsals, and the entire theatre process unfolded right in front of my eyes. It was during that phase that the thought first crossed my mind—what if I became an actor too?

This is where my journey into the world of acting began. I started with theatre in school, continued it in college, and then moved on to professional theatre. That’s when I realized this is the world everyone wants to be a part of. However, as the saying goes, the grass always seems greener on the other side. I have seen both the positives and negatives of this industry up close. With all these experiences, I have now been a part of the entertainment industry for nearly 21 years.”
