Sumeet Sachdev Interview: Discusses His New Show 'Ae Dil Jee Le Zara'

Sumeet Sachdev Interview: Actor Sumeet Sachdev, known for his roles in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Chashni, is all set to appear in Dangal TV’s new show Ae Dil Jee Le Zara. In an exclusive interview with Maya Puri’s journalist Shilpa Patil, Sumeet shared insights about the show’s storyline, his character, and the music.

Here’s a glimpse into what Sumeet Sachdev had to say:

• Can you tell us a bit about the character you’re playing in the new show?

“When I first heard about this character, I found it very exciting and interesting. He is full of pride and doesn’t care much about anything. The events from his past and present build the story. As the show progresses, the viewers will discover more about him.

• How is the relationship between Karan and Nandini? There seems to be some tension in the promo.

My character is angry with Nandini, but why? He is a bit carefree, and there are many other layers to the story. However, I won’t reveal too much right now. I hope the audience watches the show and uncovers everything.

• Would you say Karan’s character is negative or grey?

No, he is not negative, nor entirely grey. But yes, there is a lot of pride in him. Due to this pride, some decisions he makes might seem grey at times. However, on a deeper level, he’s not a negative character.

• Karan is being portrayed as a superstar in the show. What’s his place in the music industry?

Karan was a superstar singer in his youth and was very famous. Although his fame has declined a bit, he’s still quite well-known. This decline in his career has led to several events in the storyline.

• What makes this show special, and how do you think the audience will connect with it?

I don’t really know what the exact formula is that connects with the audience, but as actors, when we like a role or a story, we naturally connect with it and do our best to portray it authentically. We give our best in everything we do. After that, it’s up to the audience to decide. But the show has plenty of drama, emotions, and excitement, and I’m hopeful that the audience will enjoy it.

• Will there be a reality show aspect in the storyline, or is it more focused on the characters’ personal stories?

There is a reality show element in the story, but it’s not completely based on that. The reality show is just one part of the story, and the focus will primarily be on the characters and their journeys.

• We’ve seen you sing in some BTS videos. How is the atmosphere on set?

I’m really enjoying the shoot. If you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, it will show on screen that you’re bored. So, I make sure to have fun during the shoot.

• What would you like to say to your fans who will see you in this new avatar?
