Sushant Singh Returns with Crime Alert: Known for his powerful performances in television and films, Sushant Singh is not only a versatile actor but has also carved a niche for himself as a host and anchor. Having made a strong mark in both TV and film with his impactful acting, Sushant Singh is also admired for his work as a host. Through shows like Savdhaan India, he raised awareness about crime in society, and now, once again, he connects with the audience through Crime Alert.
Recently, Mayapuri, one of India’s most prestigious film magazines, conducted an interview with Sushant Singh, hosted by journalist Shilpa Patil. In this candid conversation, Sushant shared his thoughts on the new show, his experiences, and upcoming projects.
Sushant Praises Mayapuri
Before the interview began, Sushant expressed admiration for Mayapuri. He said,
Talking to Mayapuri is a very special moment for me because it is the oldest Hindi film magazine in the country. We've grown up reading it—it used to be our primary source of Bollywood news. And today, reading about myself in Mayapuri feels surreal and truly special.
- Tell us about your new show, Crime Alert — what can audiences expect this time?
It’s a crime-based show inspired by true events. While there is some dramatization, our USP lies in honesty and sensitivity. We aim to speak from the heart and tell real stories. That’s what creates our bond with the viewers. The show began airing on 5th May.
- Shows like this don’t use teleprompters. Is it difficult to maintain a connection with the audience in such settings?
Yes, I’ve used teleprompters during award shows and events, but I realized it breaks eye contact. Especially when you’re giving a heartfelt warning in a crime show, direct eye contact becomes essential. That’s why I’ve never used one in such formats, and I’m not using it now either.
- Even after so many years of doing crime shows, do certain stories still shock you?
Absolutely. There are news reports that are so disturbing, it’s hard to believe humans are capable of such cruelty. Even after shooting so many episodes, some crimes still shake me to the core. It's a harsh reflection of our society.
- Where else can viewers expect to see you soon?
I have two films coming up — one with Umesh Shukla and another with Kapil Sharma titled Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon Part 2. Apart from that, I’ll be seen in Rana Naidu Season 2, Four More Shots Please Season 4, and a new show called Bindhiya.
- In a time of rising competition between TV and OTT, were you surprised by the love you’ve received from audiences?
Yes, it's been very special. I never imagined people would accept and love me as an anchor, too. Savdhaan India happened by chance, but it gave me a new identity. Today, people know me by my real name, not just my characters.
- What message would you like to give your viewers and fans?
Caution is not just important in big decisions but also in everyday moments. Accidents often happen where we’re least careful. So always stay alert and aware.
Crime Alert has been airing on Dangal TV since May 5, and through this show, Sushant Singh continues to not only entertain but also spread awareness and promote vigilance in society.
