TV heartthrob Rishab Jaiswal is making fans go weak in the knees with his latest romantic monsoon anthem, ‘Yeh Baarish Jab Hoti Hai’, opposite the stunning Jasmeet Kaur. The sizzling visuals, undeniable chemistry, and raw emotional depth have already set social media ablaze — and now, in an exclusive chat, Rishabh opens up about rain-soaked kisses, real-life sparks, iconic Bollywood rain inspirations, and why this bold new music video is unlike anything he’s ever done before.
- Rishabh, your new monsoon song with Jasmeet Kaur is creating quite the buzz! Tell us how this project came to be.
Rishabh Jaiswal: Thank you! Honestly, this song came to me at the perfect time. I’ve always loved monsoon music — there’s something so nostalgic and emotional about rain, especially when it's combined with romance. When the makers approached me and said Jasmeet would be my co-star, I was instantly excited. We’ve both been wanting to collaborate for a while now, and this was the perfect script and vibe.
- The chemistry between you and Jasmeet looks effortless. Did you both know each other before this shoot?
Rishabh Jaiswal: We had met a few times at industry events and had always spoken about working together. On set, the vibe was super comfortable. Jasmeet is extremely professional and intuitive — we didn’t have to "act" the romance; it just flowed naturally. We connected over the music, the story, and the emotion behind it.
- Monsoon songs have a legacy in Bollywood. Were there any iconic rain songs that inspired your performance?
Rishabh Jaiswal: So many! I grew up watching songs like ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’, ‘Tum Hi Ho’ in the rain, and more recently ‘Barsaat Aa Gayi’. There’s a certain sensuality and soul to rain songs. For this project, I tried to tap into that raw vulnerability — that feeling of being madly in love, soaked in rain, heart on your sleeve. It’s poetic.
- How was the shoot? Any memorable behind-the-scenes moments?
Rishabh Jaiswal: Oh, it was wild! We shot in heavy rain — real rain, not just machine water! At one point, Jasmeet and I were completely drenched, shivering, but still smiling between takes. The director joked that we didn’t need glycerin because the rain did all the emotional heavy-lifting! (laughs)
- You’re known for your intense roles on TV. Is this music video a shift in your image?
Rishabh Jaiswal: Definitely. This is a softer, more romantic side of me that I don’t often get to explore in daily soaps. I think it’s important for an actor to break out of typecasting. A music video is such a compact yet powerful way to tell a story, and I loved that challenge.
- Let’s talk about those fireworks — fans are calling you the “new-age monsoon couple”!
Rishabh Jaiswal: (laughs) I’ve seen the memes, the reels, the edits — and I love them all! Jasmeet and I share a crackling energy, both on and off screen. We didn’t rehearse too much — we just felt the rain, the beats, the emotions… and let it all out in front of the camera. I think that realness is what connects with people.
- You and Jasmeet look too hot to handle in the rain-drenched sequences. Was it as intense to shoot as it looked?
Rishabh Jaiswal: It was insane! We were soaked from head to toe — no rain machines, this was real monsoon madness. At one point, we were freezing and laughing between takes, and then suddenly we’d jump into a close-up kiss shot like nothing happened. That contrast — it added to the magic.
- What’s next for you — more music videos, OTT, or films?
Rishabh Jaiswal: I’ve got a few exciting things in the pipeline. I can’t reveal too much, but let’s just say I’m exploring all platforms — OTT, more music, and fingers crossed, a film script I’m very close to signing. This is just the beginning.
- And lastly, what does the monsoon mean to Rishab Jaiswal?
Rishabh Jaiswal: For me, monsoon is romance. It’s about chai, music, and longing. And now, it’s also about this song that I hope people will play on loop while falling in love — or remembering someone they once loved.
