Tum Se Tum Tak: Niharika Choukse Opens Her Heart on Sharad Bonding and the Proposal Twist

Niharika Choukse, the leading lady of Tum Se Tum Tak, has steadily carved a special place for herself on the small screen. From the very beginning of her career, she has received immense love from audiences for each of her shows. Her natural acting, innocence, and strong on-screen chemistry have made her stand out. Currently, the show’s Kashmir track and her pairing with co-actor Sharad Kelkar are creating a lot of buzz. Here are some key excerpts from an exclusive conversation with Niharika Choukse, conducted by Mayapuri magazine journalist Shilpa Nalamwar.

All your shows so far have received tremendous love from viewers. How do you look at this success?

I consider myself extremely fortunate. Honestly, receiving so much love for every show feels nothing less than a blessing. The response Tum Se Tum Tak is getting is beyond my imagination. The audience’s love is my biggest strength.

Initially, there was a lot of discussion about the age difference between you and Sharad sir. How did you feel about it?

Yes, in the beginning, even I was a little unsure. There is an age gap, and people were already talking about it, so naturally, I wondered how the audience would accept it. But once we started shooting, something magical happened. Everything felt very natural and effortless.

How was your experience shooting the Kashmir track?

Kashmir is one of my favorite places. It was probably my seventh or eighth visit, but only my second time there for a shoot. The special thing was that I experienced live snowfall for the first time. Shooting in real snow wasn’t easy—it was extremely cold, our hands would go numb—but the visuals we got made all the hard work worthwhile.

Shooting in real snow—was that a new experience for television?

Absolutely! I think this is something rarely seen in TV shows. Shooting during actual snowfall was very challenging, especially because we couldn’t wear very warm clothes according to the scene requirements. But the entire team worked really hard.

How is your off-screen bonding with Sharad sir?

Our bonding has been great from day one. During the mock shoot itself, we felt an “MP connection” because he is from Madhya Pradesh, and so am I. Our sense of humor matches really well. He often tells me that I’m his female version. He has never made me feel that he is senior to me.

How comfortable was it for you working with a senior actor like him?

Very comfortable. He is extremely humble, respectful, and supportive. There is never an uncomfortable atmosphere on set. When there is mutual understanding and respect, scenes automatically turn out beautifully.

What message would you like to give to the audience?

First of all, a heartfelt thank you. You always keep us at the top on Zee TV—sometimes in the top five, sometimes in the top three, and many times at number one. I just hope you continue to shower us with the same love and make Tum Se Tum Tak the overall number one show.
