Ulka Gupta to Portray Single Mother in 'Main Hoon Saath Tere'

Ulka Gupta, who started her career as a child artiste, became a household name with Zee TV's serial 'Jhansi Ki Rani'. Ulka's character Manu gave her a new identity of success. Let us tell you that along with working in many TV serials, Ulka has also worked in Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, and Hindi films. Ulka is ready to win the hearts of the audience with Zee TV's upcoming serial 'Main Hoon Saath Tere'.

Are you feeling at home after returning to Zee TV?

Absolutely. I have worked with Zee TV for many years. It is on the platform of Zee TV that I have become a star, my name has become a household name. I will always be grateful for this. There are a lot of expectations with this new show and I am very excited.

What were the reasons behind doing this show and this character?

There was no such plan, everything happened on its own. I was approached by Sonali Ma'am and after that, I auditioned for this character. The channel and the production liked my audition. With all the things being processed, we have reached here. I am very happy. This journey has also not been easy. As an actor, it is difficult to mold yourself into that character. For me, this is one of my serious transformations. This was a little more difficult than any work I have done to date.

You are playing the role of a mother in the show. It must have been very difficult to play a character with such maturity at such a young age. How was this process of showing so much maturity on camera for you?

This process is still going on. This is very exciting. Everyone is asking me why I am doing this kind of character. If I am being asked so many questions just for playing one character, then imagine how many questions a single mother has to go through. I think things are slowly changing now. In this show, we are raising voices for single mothers. A single mother does not get as much credit as she should. I hope that people's thinking will change after this show. Janvi's character in the show deserves a love story, and her son Kian will help her in it.

The love story of this show is a little different, how will this love story be presented to the audience?

My family also saw the promo for this show and they also liked it very much. He said that you have always played the title role and this character is very different from your other characters. I have been very lucky that I have had the opportunity to do different characters. This character is very different from my other characters and its story is also very different. I am very happy to be a part of it. To play a single mother, I have had to take a lot of methodical therapy and approach but it has been a very beautiful journey. I hope people will also like it.

How has been the experience shooting with Karan and Kian and how is your off-screen bonding?

Till now we have shot together for only 20 to 25 days. Till now I have shot more with Kian because the story starts with Kian and Janvi. Kian and Janvi are in their world and there are so many problems in Janvi's life and how Jhanvi tries to solve them. And how she also fulfills Kian’s dreams. We don't know where Aryaman comes from or why he comes. Very few scenes have been shot with Karan so far. Kian is very fun-loving but it is also fun to shoot with him. He is very talented. Karan is very professional, we are also slowly getting to know each other, and it is fun working together.

Thank you so much for always supporting me like this. As I promised I will always entertain you and bring new characters for you and now I am bringing the character of Janvi for you in the serial 'Main Hoon Saath Tere' for which I also want your support.
