She has previously starred in popular shows like Savitri, Saraswatichandra, and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant. In an open conversation with MayaPuri, she shared insights about her journey in Mumbai, the ups and downs of her personal life, her transformation, her upcoming show, and the love she receives from her fans. We saw on your social media how grandly you celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi. What do you have to say about it? I think I celebrated it really well this year! Everyone’s been asking me about it. The first two days of Ganpati are very special for me. I celebrated with friends in full swing. Some of my friends are so busy that we only get to meet once a year. All my friends are important to me, whether it's the Meet Brothers or others. We enjoyed sweets, had meals together, and shared a lot of conversations. You’ve undergone significant changes in your journey. Your team mentioned you’re following a diet and you look stunning. Tell us about this transformation. I’ve lost weight and have become very serious about my diet. I’ve switched to healthier foods. It’s easy to get lazy when you step away from acting, which happened to me. I was busy with events and business, but I always wanted to look my best. I was already looking good, but now I’m genuinely focusing on it. You’ve spent considerable time in this industry, and your journey is inspiring. With no film background, how has this journey been for you? Thank you for that compliment; it truly makes my day! It’s true that no one in my family is part of this industry. When I told my father I was going to Mumbai, he was very worried. He had concerns for me. But I always keep in mind that my parents believed in me and sent me here. It’s now my duty to make them proud through hard work. I can do this because of the support from my family. Yes, it was challenging, but I’m happy to be here. Standing firm in Mumbai is no easy feat. Have you faced any difficulties? Absolutely! When I first arrived in Mumbai, I didn’t get any work for the first eight months. I auditioned 3-4 times every day. It was a struggle. Even after entering television, it wasn’t easy. My first show, Pyar Ki Ek Kahani, required night shoots, so I had to stay awake at night and sleep during the day since it was a vampire show. That wasn’t easy either, but the team and producer were wonderful. My first home was in Wadala, and it was a tough time because the shoots were in Andheri. I spent 4 hours a day in traffic, which was incredibly frustrating. I would leave my home around 9 AM with my bag and a few outfits, go auditioning, and return home at 10 PM. During this time, I often ate alone. You worked in a special show, Pyar Ki Ek Kahani, which remains dear to many. What do you have to say about it? Definitely, Pyar Ki Ek Kahani gave me so much. Even today, people know me as Panchi Dobriyal. It was an iconic show. My name still resonates with Panchi Dobriyal. Your fans miss you a lot. Do you have any plans for them? I don’t want to disappoint my fans, so I focus on quality work. I’m a bit choosy. Coming from a business family, I hadn’t received any good projects, and I couldn’t just sit idle, so I ventured into business. But now, I have exciting news—I’m making my return to TV very soon! Your journey is inspiring, filled with ups and downs. You faced difficulties and became self-reliant. What do you say about that? Yes, I’ve learned a lot from my life. I’ve realized that loving oneself is crucial. If things don’t go as planned, it doesn’t mean you made a mistake. Whatever is meant to happen will happen. We should always give ourselves a second chance, and I’m ready to give myself that opportunity. Despite being away from TV for so long, you are still loved. What do you have to say about that? I love my fans. Even after so many years, people recognize me. They still know me as Panchi Dobriyal. That brings me immense joy. When people meet me at events, they still call me by that name. Vahbiz Dorabjee is all set to make her return to television after seven years, and excitement among the audience is palpable as everyone eagerly awaits to see her back on screen.
