What Mohit Malik shared about his experience of the ‘Chamak’ show

Mohit Malik got popular from the role of Samrat Singh Rathore in Zee TV's popular show 'Doli Armaano Ki' and Sikandar Singh Gill in 'Kulfi Kumar Bajewala'. Malik made his television debut with Star Plus' show 'Miilee'. Malik also participated in the reality shows 'Khatron Ke Khiladi', 'Nach Baliye Season 4, and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. In 2022, Mohit made his OTT debut with the series 'Cyber War-Har Screen Crime Scene', and now he is also a part of the upcoming series 'Chamak' on Sony Liv. If we talk about TV, Mohit is currently seen in the role of Kunal in the serial 'Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si'. Let us tell you what Mohit shared about this series and his upcoming projects…

What was the vision of the director regarding this series?

He has only one message for which he made this series. And that message was that no artist should be killed. He worked hard on this idea for three years and wrote this show. This is a musical show. I think this is probably the first musical OTT show. The number of songs in this show is more than any other OTT show till now. All its songs are original compositions. Apart from being a musical show, it is also a revenge drama. The show has been written very beautifully. It's the story of a boy who returns from Canada and finds out that his father was killed on stage, then he finds out how he was killed, and who killed him. Everyone has done a very good job. There are many songs in this which are of different genres. This show is a complete entertainment show.

What kind of research is required to play such a character, and what research and preparation did you do for this character?

This show has been written very well, when Rohit met Sir, he had made complete preparations for it. When he told me the story, he was very clear about everything. I just had to add colors to the sketch made by him. If I talk about preparation, I don't know how many times I went and met Rohit sir, how many meetings I had. We prepared together. I also did a workshop with my friend Rachit who is an acting coach. Then I also took some time out for my preparation. People like the show, and I hope more people will watch it.

How was the experience of working with Rohit sir?

Rohit sir is a Punjabi at heart, he roams around with Punjab in his heart. He has a very good sense of music and beats. He will talk for a minute or a few seconds before the shot, and he will send you into the zone of the character, this is his specialty. Whatever scene has to be shot, they are in the same emotion, and so if you prepare and go and talk to them, then you become more comfortable. He is a very wonderful director and a very spiritual person, and that is why I get along well with him. The approach of his work is very spiritual. It was a lot of fun working, we had a lot of fun on the set, and we did good work and worked hard. My work is such that I stay in the zone, the on-and-off thing does not happen to me at all, I stay in my zone only, and this helps me a lot. If anyone can create shine then only Rohit Jograj can do it.

You are a three-dimensional actor, you have done TV, and OTT, and now you are also doing a film with Abhishek Kapoor, so what would you like to tell us that is similar in all three places?

The process is the same, whether it is TV, OTT, or film. My work and process remain the same. TV and OTT: If you get a bound script, you prepare more, you get time to prepare. TV also has its methods, I have been working in TV for so long, there are my methods to get into the character. I spent the first month of shooting on TV preparing the character. The thing with TV is that whatever you do, you end up becoming that character. I like all three mediums very much, I want to do films, I want to do OTT, and I also want to do TV. It's not that I want to leave TV.

Mohit Malik Khatron Ke Khiladi’

You have also done reality shows like ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Kiya’.

Yes, but I never win, I always come third.

Do you consider three as your lucky number?

No, it’s nothing like that. Now I have to go from three to number 1. I also worked very hard in Khatron Ke Khiladi but I lost in the finals. I have done all the reality shows that I liked.

Tell us about your show ‘Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si’?

The show is going very well. People like it very much.

Mohit Malik Kunal chamak

What is the similarity between your character Kunal and you in the show?

Kunal is very much in love with Mohit. There are many differences. Kunal's upbringing is different. There is only one thing similar and that is that both of us belong to the Punjabi family. I know people like Kunal, the kind of father Kunal is, I know some people like him. I am very familiar with these types of characters. Kunal and Mohit are very different people. Kunal has a lot of issues, he doesn't trust anyone easily, he has his fears, and that's not the case with me. Kunal is completely different from me.

How long do we have to wait for Chamak 2?

Will come as soon as possible.

Has its shooting started, or is it about to start?

The shoot has already been done. Earlier there was only one season, later it was divided into two seasons. The first part of which has just been released, and the rest will come in season 2. And maybe it will come within a month. I hope it comes soon.
