Zee TV’s Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan cast Amandeep Sidhu on Her Role as Sneha and On-Screen Chemistry With Sheizaan

Well-known television actress Amandeep Sidhu has won the audience’s hearts by playing a variety of characters over the years. She will now be seen in Zee TV’s upcoming show “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan,” where she plays the role of Sneha. The story is rooted in the soil of rural India, weaving a beautiful tale of family, relationships, and sacrifice. Recently, Mayapuri magazine’s journalist Shilpa Nalamwar caught up with her. In this conversation, Amandeep shared her thoughts about the show, her character, and her shooting experience.

Amandeep Sidhu talks about the show Ganga Mai Ki Betiyaan

• The promo of the show received record views and lots of love from the audience. How did you feel at that moment?

To be honest, I was very emotional. I was a little nervous about whether I could convincingly play the role of a girl from Uttar Pradesh, since most of my previous roles have been Punjabi characters. But when the promo got so much love, I felt that we were heading in the right direction and that our hard work was paying off.

• Your chemistry with Sheizaan Khan in the show is being appreciated by the audience. What would you say about that?

Our chemistry is natural because we are good friends. Sometimes, during shooting, certain moments happen that are not in the script, nor directed by the filmmaker, but they just flow naturally. This only happens when your co-actor is a good performer. Whenever I did a scene with Sheizaan, I felt everything was happening very smoothly.

• You mentioned that you added a bit of Amandeep Sidhu to your character Sneha. What do you mean by that?

See, when a character exists only on paper, it’s just a story. But when we put our heart and soul into it, only then does it come alive. I have put a part of my own personality into Sneha as well. Perhaps that’s why the audience is able to connect with her.

• What kind of girl is Sneha?

Sneha is one of “Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan.” Her childhood has been full of struggles. She has seen her mother cry, didn’t get her father’s support, and watched her sisters grow up alone. Because of these hardships, there’s an anger inside her. She can’t bear to see any injustice happen to another girl. She’s very protective and wants to do the right things in life.

• How has your experience been on the set?

It’s a lot of fun. Our team is like a family. I’ve built close friendships with Srishti Jain, Sheizaan, and Shubhangi ji. Especially Shubhangi ji, she’s such a lovely person. Everyone is so friendly that it feels like we’re on a picnic. When the team is this good, every moment of shooting becomes easy and memorable.

• What message would you like to give to the audience?

I just want to say that I am truly grateful for all the love you’ve given me so far. Now, my only request is that you shower the same love on Sneha as well. Do let me know how I look as a girl from Uttar Pradesh. I’ll be eagerly waiting for your feedback and reviews.
