The 95th Oscar Academy Awards were honoring the best of supreme talents in the past year that brought to the screen the exceptional world of films and production. RRR Team (Ram Charan, Jr NTR, SS Rajamouli, Keeravani) were awarded the Oscar trophy for their pulsating dance-song ‘Naatu Naatu’ ( meaning ‘dance dance’) creating cinematic history. On the other hand, Guneet Monga’s ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ made India proud by bringing home the award for Best Documentary Short Film.
The power-packed live performance of RRR song Naatu Naatu at the Academy Awards stage earned a magnificent standing ovation from the audience. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone took to the stage to introduce the song featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR and made her announcement. The Naatu Naatu song was performed by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. Deepika Padukone described the song as a ‘banger’ after which the dancers took over the stage and brought loads of liveliness and energy to the mega Oscar event.
Now millions of Deepika Padukone’s ardent fans and Oscar-fans are busy figuring out whether Depika Padukone is the ‘lucky-macot’ star of this year 2023. Paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Pathaan’ (2023) the YRF movie became a mega-hit blockbuster collecting Rs 1045 crores plus worldwide . At the Oscars, this year Deepika’s presence proved super–lucky when the RRR song Naatu Naatu fetched the prestigious Oscar Award for the composer MM Keeravani , the singers and the lyricist and film-maker SS Rajamouli . That’s because SRK’s previous movie ‘Zero’ (2018), was a major box-office disappointment . Whereas SRK’s movies opposite Deepika Padukone ‘Om Shanti Om. Happy New Year and Chennai Express have all emerged box-office mega-hits.
As soon as Naatu Naaru took over the Dolby Theatre where the Oscars 2023 are being held, the stars in the audience stood up and cheered..Singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava performed the Telugu chartbuster at the Oscars stage and also walked the red carpet along with choreographer Prem Rakshith. Talking about performing the Oscar-nominated track, Bhairava said they are grateful to the Academy for giving the singers an opportunity to perform “Naatu Naatu” on the stage.
