Is "The Kerala Story" being made into "The Kashmir Files"? Ban in Bengal after Tamil Nadu, plea for tax free in Madhya Pradesh... and now ahead?

Once again cinema in the form of "The Kerala Story" has pushed the country in two. Apparently politics has entered the world of entertainment. West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and several other states have banned or are planning to ban the film, while Madhya Pradesh and several other states are working on plans to make the film tax-free. Again the story of "The Kashmir Files" is being repeated.

The Tamil Nadu government had earlier banned the screening of the film "The Kerala Story", saying that the film should not cause conflict between the two communities, so this is being done as a precaution. The very next day the news comes that the screening of the film has been stopped in Bengal too. The reason is the same... "The people of Kerala are insulted by showing this film". While the film business in Bengal was on the way to grow earning without any hindrance. According to reports, the film was running in 94 talkies in the state, some of which were running full houses. Who was harmed by this move? Not only of Bollywood! Producer Vipul Amritlal Shah says that if the state government does not listen to us, then we will take legal action. The central government is in favour of running the film. Union IB Minister Anurag(Instagram) Thakur says, "By banning the film, the government there is doing injustice to the sisters and daughters. A similar statement has also come from Union Minister Smriti Irani in support of the film.

Overall, a film has been made a weapon by politicians. One side says that the film is deteriorating social harmony, it should be banned, while the other side says that the freedom of expression ends when it is banned. Our Prime Minister who came in front of the truthful people also says the same. The way he supported "The Kashmir Files" to let people know what happened there, he also accepts the truth of Kerala to be brought to the fore. And, probably people also want that whether or not there are 32000 love-jihad cases, or whatever the figure may be, the truth must be known. The same truth is the story of "The Kerala Story". Now the film is being stopped from being allowed to go out citing the fear of creating a ruckus if this story goes out.

It is also a fact that if there is controversy, the film benefits. All the films which have come in controversy have earned a lot. "The Kashmir Files" has made records of earnings. "The Kerala Story" will also earn. People's eagerness to watch the film has increased with statements of politicians and news of ban and support. But, the question is, at what cost is this happening? If this happens, "The Kerala Story" will earn (belatedly) like "The Kashmir Files", but the country will have to suffer the far-sighted consequences of the politicians playing the game of distortion. What about the perversion which will become imprinted in the mind? Saw the film, understood the situation, the matter ends there. But, what is being put into the mind on the pretext of a film... is a political game, the audience can hardly understand this!
