It is a film which revolves around Tatya (Mohan Joshi) and his grandson Vilas (Subodh Bhave). Tatya who prefers stay in his peaceful village but misses his grandson who lives in a Mumbai slum, visits Mumbai for a medical check-up, but is shattered by the poor living conditions he finds himself in. When Tatya accidentally sees an airplane at close quarters, he believes it to be the Pushpak Viman, a mythical aircraft which physically carried Tukaram to his heavenly abode and wishes to board the aircraft, with startling repercussions.

Mohan Joshi, whose character is serious and funny in equal measure, steals the show. Subodh Bhave and Gouri Mahajan, who play Vilas and his wife Smita, have significant roles but they pale in comparison to Joshi. A few scenes where the chemistry between Tatya and Vilas  and Tatya and his daughter in law should find some emotional connect with the audience, especially those in the older age group, but the youth may be largely alienated.

As soon as the story written by Subodh Bhave on paper is brought to screen with a seemingly realistic framework and visual referencing, the concept loses its flexibility. The story is not strong enough to hold an entire film and gets boring in between too. It’s just about an average fare and sadly the film fails to take off.
