Shubhaavi Choksey, who is currently seen in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, talks to JYOTHI VENKATESH about her filmi debut, the kind of roles she wants to do, her experience of shooting Dhadhak,  who she looks up to in the industry and more!

You made your debut with Dhadak. How was the experience?

It was very smooth, in fact, it was a learning experience for me. The thing is that both Ishaan Khattar and Jhanvi Kapoor are absolutely amazing actors. Jhanvi is very natural, Ishaan, on the other hand, gets into the character. He gets into the mood of the scene. I was just watching both of them and it was amazing. Shashank Khaitaan as a director is very calm. So, it was a very nice setup, very professional. In fact, the people who were working as the assistant directors over there were superb. They were so much younger to what I am but it was very cool and a pampering-type of an environment. I loved working in Dhadak

What difference do you find in a film shooting and a TV show shooting?

Three points about the difference between films and TV are that firstly in films, you don’t have a deadline, in television you have telecast issues so we have to deliver something in a particular period of time. The second thing is that in a film you have a reading, then rehearsals, then you have a shoot but in TV that is not possible. You get the script and you do it, despite that our director of Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Muzammil Desai does rehearsals, which is fantastic. The third thing is that I feel TV has more money than Bollywood, so these are the only differences between TV and Films.

What kind of roles you would like to do in films?

I would like to do a role of a person who is weak, vulnerable, or maybe a tapori role for sure, or a gangster. I would love to do a superhero flick where there is a lot of action happening. I even wanted to do a patriotic film always. So I hope I get to do that.

shubhaavi-

Who are your favorite Bollywood stars and why?

I have loved Ranbir Kapoor since Saawariya. I always felt that there is something about this guy, and secondly, I love Ranveer Singh's energy.  I never thought he would do a film like Dil Dhadakne Do and Bajirao Mastani. So after seeing that, I was like wow! From the senior lot, I love Mr Bachchan, whether it is Cheeni Kum, Shamitabh Or Coolie. I even love Aamir Khan for that matter. In heroines from the new lot I love Alia Bhatt. Every time she surprises me. I even love Deepika Padukone. They both are at par for me as actors. I have always loved Kareena Kapoor Khan as well for all the things that she has done. From the senior lot there is nobody close to Madhuri and Kajol. I am a big fan of them.

The content on cinema has changed,  what do you have to say about the kind of content being made in films?

Small films are doing very well, it’s not about having a star in the film anymore, it’s the way you direct and the content of course. The content has really changed, it has become more powerful which is very nice.

Which film is close to your heart and why?

In Indian cinema I love 3 Idiots, Dil Chahta Hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Baahubali. I love the whole drama and the canvas which Baahubali had. It’s amazing, these are the films that are very close to me. In Hollywood, I love Tom Hank's films, I loved Forrest Gump. Other than that, I loved Argo, Ben Affleck and I don't miss any superhero flick.
