JAATE JAATE CORONA NE BOLLYWOOD MEIN KOHARAAM MACHAA DIYA ...... By Ali Peter John

The last two years I have been horrible for Bollywood . Business has suffered like never before with there being no shootings and theatres and multiplexes and even auditoriums being closed down - Ali Peter John

And then there was the raging attack made on it by Kangana Ranaut because of what she called the "Bollywood mafia " and her war against nepotism and the " dangerous disease called drugs ".

Things are getting normal gradually , but the curse of the Corona virus is still in no mood to leave. There is the scare of the third wave and to add to the misery , there is another curse called Omicron which is now walking hand in hand with the Corona virus .

And Bollywood was supposed to lead by example and follow all the protocol to be safe from all these attacks . But the denizens of Bollywood have once again proved that they can be experts in throwing rules and protocol to the wild winds and do what comes best to them .....

And so recently Karan Johar hosted what was called " an intimate party" to celebrate the success of his show " The Fabulous Wives Of Bollywood ".

Karan had some of his closest friends at the party and no one knows what happened at the party , but in the following days some of the guests of Karan tested negative for the virus and there was panic all around .

Among the guests who were first found negative were Kareena Kapoor , Amrita Arora , Maheep Kapoor ( the wife of actor Sanjay Kapoor ) her daughter Shaanya Kapoor who was to make her debut as an actress soon , Seema Khan and Hina Khan .

Soon others like Malaika Arora and some other known and unknown faces also were found testing negative . The Mumbai Municipal Corporation swung into action and sealed the floors of buildings in which these " negative stars " and most of them were asked to isolate themselves or go into quarantine .

Some like Kareena instantly went into quarantine , but others like Alia Bhatt took things lightly and according to sources in the media , she even took a chartered flight to New Delhi to attend the poster release of Ayan Mukherjee's "Brahmastra " in which she is teamed up with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time and who are supposed to get married soon .

Alia according to the same sources was to take another chartered flight soon after the poster release function of "Brahmastra".

And the Mayor of Mumbai , Ms Kishori Pednekar has asked the BMC which comes under her to take action not only against Alia , but against all those celebrities who have flouted the guidelines against the Corona Virus in the interest of the people at large .

Karan Johar who was the host however is said to have tested negative together with his family . While Kareena's maid has tested positive according to latest sources . The BMC is investigating the entire story and the results are awaiting .

It must be remembered that the Vicky Kaushal and Katrina wedding was celebrated with all the pomp and splendour and they even had a grand reception , but they are said to have followed pandemic rules strictly and that is perhaps why no cases of Corona have emerged from the wedding ceremony or the reception in Jaipur.

The couple has just returned after their honeymoon in Maldives and are planning to have another reception for their Bollywood friends .

The reception is scheduled for December 20 at the J W Marriott Hotel in Mumbai and invitations have already gone out to Amitabh Bachchan , Ranbir Kapoor , interestingly Salman Khan and other big names .

It is still too early to say how many will attend the reception under the circumstances and other emotional circumstances . But in the interest of the safety of one and all I hope the guests and the hosts don't lose control of their emotions and forget that the little monster, Corona has not finally left us to do what we want, but it is still very much around and now it also has its long lost companion Omicron and their twin attack can be deadly and lethal
