AMITABH BACHCHAN

He was like a tower of learning , knowledge and wisdom . He was both a father figure and an idol for me ever since I first saw him in "Ganga Jamuna" .

I couldnt believe how a man so very well educated in the best schools and colleges could play the role of a rural dacoit called Ganga .

And what fascinated me the most was how he mastered the Bhojpuri language spoken in interiors of Uttar Pradesh. Ganga Jamuna was my introduction to Hindi cinema and Mr Dilip Kumar was my institution .

I will be lying if l say that many of my best scenes have been inspired by the original scenes done by him.

Indian Cinema will never find a teacher and an institution like Mr Dilip Kumar. His influence can be seen in five generations of actors and will continue to inspire many more generations of actors.

SHAH RUKH KHAN

What can l say about Dilip Kumar sahaab when many others have tried and failed .

He is the kind of actor who comes just once and we all are very privileged to have been born at a time when he has been around and we could see him to believe that we had an actor as great as him in our time.

And l doubly lucky because he was so close to me and encouraged me to work hard and work sincerely without thinking of the results. I will follow his advice all my life .

Mai bol nahi sakti hu, mere sab shabd hi khatam ho gaye . Kuch yaad nahi aataa .

Woh bimaar the yeh mujhe pataa thaa , lekin woh hum sabko chhod kar jaayenge pataa nahi thaa . Kabhi kabhi lagtaa hai , zindagi maut se zyadaa beraham hai .

Mai filmon mein aayaa hi innke vajah se . Maine FTII mein innki Devdaas kahi baar dekhhi, aur uss film aur Sahaab ke kaam ke baare mein 90 page kaa thesis bhi likkhaa .

Mujhe aaj bhi yakeen nahi hotaa ki unhone mere saath teen badi filmein ki hai, Vidhaata , Karma aur Saudagarh aur woh set par bachhe jaise hote the, hameshaa sikhte rehete the aur lagtaa hai aaj bhi kahi door baith kar koyi achchi kitaab pad rahe honge

I was very fortunate to do a very small role in Shakti in which I play his grandson and Amitji played my father .

What better start could I get than working with two major institutions ? He was an out of this world man and will always be remembered like that . I wish great man like him were given two or three lives more as a gift.

KAMAL HAASAN

He was a brand ambassador of god's goodness . I too first got interested in films after l saw the magic he worked in them with his mind blowing performances.

I cherish the time l spent with him. When will l now meet him and talk to him again . I dont want say rest in peace because god must have made all the arrangements to let him live in peace.

Mai kyaa bolu itne bade aadmi ke baare mein ? Hum toh innke paair choone ke bhi kaabil nahi hai .

RAJA KASHEEF

I still cannot believe that he is dead . How can a man who was life itself die ? I remember the time I spent with him and the blessings he showered on me and Rubaayyat

NARMADA (Dilip Kumar's favourite cook for several years) ... aisaa kaisaa huaa ? Khudah se koyi galti zaroor hui hogi. Mere liye toh woh khudah hi the . Ek aam khanaa pakaane waali ko koyi itni izzat labhi de hi nahi saktaa.

JAAN CHEIRAN (His personal secretary for years)

He never treated me like his secretary but more as a friend or a younger brother. One scene l will describe can tell you more about him that all the books written about him.

I haf reached the bungalow completely drenched. He first asked me to go into washroom and have a hot water bath and then gave me his own clothes to wear and got me a hot cup of coffee abd covered me with a blanket . Need I say anything more about Sahaab ?
