Over the past many decades , that I have known media-friendly, macho-man, nature-lover Jackie Shroff (fondly also known as ‘Apna Bhidu’ Jaggu Dada,) he has often tried to step out of his ‘comfort zone; and attempt challenging roles and characters . Four times Filmfare Awards winner super-actor Jackie Shroff has acted in movies of 13 different Indian languages including of course Hindi . Which he has never done before.
“Beti Bachao, Beti Padhaao’ has always been among the prime social causes that I always support”, says Jackie. Which explains why Jackie agreed to play an impactful cameo in talented writer-director-RJ Karan Singh Rathore’s short film film called "Paath - The Lesson". which exposes the shocking realistic bitter truth of ‘bride-trafficking;’ prevalent in the interiors of various north-western States of India, Jackie Shroff is excellent in a tear-jerking sensitive cameo role performance of a senior Rajasthani widower. Which has the kahani-mein-twist towards the climax !
Bride trafficking is such a bitter truth of our society and society that a person gets shocked even thinking about it. The figures of bride trafficking are going to put mankind to shame. On such a sensitive and eye-opening issue, writer and director Karan Singh Rathore has created a startling short film called "Paath - The Lesson". A special screening of this special film starring Jackie Shroff was held at Red Bulb Studio in Mumbai where the film's team including Jackie Shroff and Abhilash Thapliyal were present. Screened in several international film festivals and winning multiple awards, the film lesson indeed teaches many lessons.

Jackie Shroff mentioned and appreciated that multi-talented Karan Singh Rathore hadapproached him with a subject exposing the negative social custom of young brides-trafficking yet with a positive eye-opener path-lesson (sabak ) through the Paath short film. I could not refuse to do it. This is a very serious concept which needs to be exposed. Prior to watching this short film made by Karan, most people may have heard very little about bride trafficking, It's a must-watch short film for everyone . I promise that whenever Karan Singh will come with a social message script, I will do his film. He is a very hardworking director ."

Apart from Jackie Shroff, actors Sara Arjun, Abhilash Thapliyal and Rajkumar Kanojia have played important roles in the short film and given excellent realistic performances.
Jackie Shroff seemed delighted as he said that "I am very grateful to Karan Singh Rathore that he cast me for this film. This film ‘Paath—The Lesson’ is more special because it is a Rajasthani character (Kesar) which I am portraying on screen for the first time. Also this hard-hitting yet sensitive film has been selected for many festivals, and won so many prestigious awards."
The story of the short film Paath is inspired by realistic incidents happening in North India. Abhilash and Sara have played the role of bride-groom and young bride in the film. It is shown in the film that Jackie Shroff's wife has recently passed away and he picks up Abhilash's wife to be his wife i.e. Sara who is just 12 years old. After that, you will have to see the Paath film for which way the story twists and turns.
