After Race 3, there were news that Jacqueline was in talks with Sujoy Ghosh for her upcoming project where she will be seen doing a woman-centric film. It was later announced that it was not Sujoy Ghosh but director, Ribhu Dasgupta who is going to make Hindi adaptation of The Girl On The Train, in which Jacqueline would play the lead role.
The Girl On The Train is a Psychological thriller novel by British author Paula Hawkins. The novel was No.1 best-seller of its time. The film rights were acquired in March 2014 by DreamWorks Pictures and Marc Platt Productions and got released in 2016. And now there are plans to make its Bollywood version.
According to a leading daily, a source informed, "The makers wanted to finalise the script and approach other actors for different roles in the thriller. But none of this has happened so far. All that we know is Jacqueline is on board.”
“The makers haven’t been able to find any financiers who are willing to invest in the movie, which is why it’s stuck. There’s no clarity on whether this film has been put on hold or has been shelved. But as of now, it’s definitely not happening,” the source added.
As the movie is facing a major roadblock there has been no progress on the film further.
