Jadhav & Gill Help UP Yoddha Drub Patna Pirates 41-29

U.P. Yoddha – the UP franchisee of the Pro Kabaddi League today notched their third consecutive win drubbing three time Vivo PKL Champions Patna Pirates 41-29. The 76th game of the Pro Kabaddi League was being played at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Bengaluru. U.P. Yoddha today dominated most of the game displaying immaculate strategy and high fitness levels. Shrikant Jadhav along with Surender Gill earned 10 & 7  raid points in the attack for the Yoddha, while leading from the front, Captain Nitesh Kumar along with fellow defender Ashu Singh earned 5 & 4 tackle points respectively. The Yoddhas now with six wins from 13 games are tied with 37 points with Umumba for the sixth place.

The first half began with Patna Pirates taking the first point on board through Pradeep Narwal. However there after UP Yoddha displayed exceptional game strategy and play as they never really let the pirates return to the game until the final few minutes of the first half. At one point mid-way through the first half the yoddhas were comfortably placed with a 10 point cushion over the pirates when the scoreline read as 5-15.  Shrikant Jadhav with 5 Raid points was the top raider for U.P. Yoddha. However it was in the last few minutes of the first half when the Pirates made a return and thanks to two super tackle points, the patna franchisee managed to close in of the huge gap finishing the first half at 14-16 still in favour of UP Yoddha.

The second half began with Patna Pirates extending their successful run as they enforced an all out on the Yoddhas  to take the score line to 16-17 to patna’s favour. A few successful raids from Patna Pirates, Pradeep Narwal saw them extending their lead. However an exceptional defensive display from the Yoddha ensured that they quickly turned things around to their favour.  Nitesh Kumar through a successful tackle equalised the score for the first time at 22-22 for the Yoddha in the 6th minute of the second half and thereafter UP Yoddha never looked back. The Yoddhas induced two All-Outs on Patna Pirates in the second half which saw an excellent display of the Yoddha’s defensive capabilities. These coupled with some outstanding raids fro Shrikant Jadhav and Surender Gill ensured the Yoddha an emphatic 41-29 win over Patna Pirates.
