Jameel Khan Urges People To Do Their Bit For Mother Nature On World Environment Day

This World Environment Day, actor Jameel Khan talks about how it’s important to spread awareness amongst people to preserve the environment. “The actor, who was seen in Blank and Setters, is very particular about protecting mother nature. He says, “Do not litter, do not spit, segregate the waste, do not burn garbage, keep your house as well as your neighbourhood clean, be a responsible citizen. It all begins at home. Teach your children to be environment-friendly, not to pluck leaves or flowers from plants, and take care of plants. Plant as many trees, wherever possible and have plants inside the house and in the window and balcony area and get children to take care of them. Ensure that all your vehicles are PUC complaint and report vehicles which are not compliant. Try and organise carpooling amongst neighbours, friends, colleagues and relatives. Maximize the use of public transport. The government should improve and make public transport comfortable and pleasurable in order to encourage car users to minimise the use of private transport.” The actor says that these individual steps will go a long way. “A healthy environment will lead to a healthy society. Stand up for the right and the righteous, take care of each other and do not compromise on your planet. This is what I do and I would urge everyone to do the same. Say no to plastic bags and plastic bottles. Conserve water,” he signs off.
