Janhvi Kapoor on coping up Sridevi's death: “It hasn't been an easy experience. My work and my family have given me the strength to go on."

The sudden demise of Sridevi on February 24 due to accidental drowning left not just the family but the entire nation under utter shock. The heart went out for the two daughters of Sridevi Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor who were immensely attached with their Amma.

While interacting with India Today, Janhvi Kapoor talked about the loss of her mother and how Dhadak helped the actress to deal with the loss.  “It hasn’t been an easy experience. My work and my family have given me the strength to go on. If it wasn’t for coming back to the sets of Dhadak or being able to act, I think it would have been much tougher than what it is now. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways.”, said Janhvi.

Janhvi also talked about being a part of films and said; “I don’t know if I always knew that I wanted to act but I was always inclined towards movies. It is something that I am very passionate about. Working in Dhadak feels like a dream come true. It is too good to be true.”

She also talked about how passionate she is about cinema and how her family is all about films. Janhvi said; “In my family, it is the only that we discuss. It’s the only thing we knew. Every time we sit at home and have a conversation with one another, it is always about films. Even when we go out to spend time together, we go out to watch a movie. Holidays were always about dad’s shooting schedules or mom’s shooting schedules. We have grown up in that environment.”

Janhvi Kapoor’s first film Dhadak along with Ishaan Khatter is slated to release on July 20.
