JANHVI KAPOOR RECALLS SRIDEVI ON THE TRAILER LAUNCH OF DHADAK

Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor's much-awaited Bollywood debut film Dhadak's trailer is out now. At the trailer launch, the stunning newbie Janhvi got emotional as she was missing her mother Sridevi. Janhvi revealed that her mother Sridevi wanted a film like Sairat to be her debut movie.

"I saw 'Sairat' with mom at home and I remember telling her 'I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it.' Me and mom had this big discussion how even she wanted a role like this for me and then you (Karan) called and it happened, " said Janhvi.

While interacting with Vogue, Janhvi shared that Sridevi had watched about 25 minutes of Dhadak. Janhvi said; "She was very technical about it. The first thing she told me was the things I needed to improve -- she felt the mascara was smudged and it really bothered her. The second half has to be different, she told me... ‘You can’t wear anything on your face.’ That’s all she told me, but she was happy."

Director Shashank Khaitan talked about the plot of Dhadak and said; “The basic premise (of Dhadak and Sairat) is same. But there are variations. My story is based on another setup. It is set in Rajasthan. It comes with its own challenges, conflicts and style of a love story.”

Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter’s Dhadak is slated to release on July 20.
