KAALA CONTROVERSY: RAJINIKANTH SECURES RELEASE IN 130 SCREENS

For quite some time, Rajinikanth's Kaala has been in controversy as Pro- Kannada fringe groups and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) had banned the film in the state after Rajinikanth's controversial remarks against the state during the Cauvery case. The makers of Kaala later appealed to the Karnataka High Court and the judge.

The Karnataka High Court and the judge ruled out in the favor of the film, lifted the ban and mentioned how the state government will have to ensure the additional security in the theatres showcasing the movie.

The pro-Kannada groups have now threatened to intensify the protest against Kaala if the film is released in the state on the due date, i.e.; June 7. They have also threatened the exhibitors and distributors about the consequences. It is said that there will be additional security forces to ensure that the film gets a hassle-free screening.

Amidst all the controversy, Rajinikanth met the media to appeal to Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala mentioned; “#Superstar @rajinikanth is meeting the press now in #Chennai regarding #Kaala release in #Karnataka. He has appealed the CM of #KA to provide security to theaters and allow the smooth release of #Kaala.”

Rajinikanth talked with the media and said;  “It’s not right to oppose Kaala. We are not just releasing in Karnataka only, we are releasing it worldwide. Kannada outfits can come and meet me if they have misgivings about me or my views. I hope Karnataka CM will facilitate the release. I am surprised that Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce is opposing the release of Kaala. If Kaala is releasing worldwide, except in Karnataka, then people everywhere would ask the reason and it will put Karnataka in a bad light.'”

The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce released a press statement revealing that they are trying to get the film released in Karnataka. And now Kaala has secured a release in 130 screens. Ramesh Bala added; “#Kaala to release in 130 theatres in #Karanataka tomorrow.”

Hope everything goes well and the film gets a smooth release.
