Kajol Srivastava's Fairytale Wedding!

Kajol Srivastava, who tied the knot with IT Engineer Ankit  Khare, says that the wedding was all that she had imagined. The actor had a variety of pre-wedding functions which was followed by a dream wedding. “It was just amazing. We had a mehendi ceremony on the 21st. Then, on 22nd morning, we Haldi, we had a sangeet party in the evening. 23rd morning was a pool party and the wedding was held in the evening,” she says.

The actor looked spectacular on all her functions. Talking about the thought process behind her ensembles, she says, “I am not somebody who follows the crowd, everyone wears green for the Mehendi but I was wearing a dark pink ensemble with gotta jewellery. Normally, brides go for floral jewellery. Everyone was wearing yellow, I wore a peach colour sharara and flower jewellery. For the sangeet, I wanted something western, so I was wearing a mocha colour Jumpsuit and a skirt on that. For the pool party, I wore an aqua coloured dress. For my wedding, I wore green colour, which no bride wears.”

She adds, “People say that green is worn by Muslims on their weddings but I don’t believe in that. I am somebody who never bothers about what people are talking around me. I always wanted to wear pink initially but my designers Ashish and Shefali and I thought pink was very common. I wanted to wear something that looks good on me so I chose green.”

The wedding was held in Khajurao. “We wanted a destination wedding, especially my father, and Khajurao was near to my native town. The locations was so beautiful and not common like Goa or Jaipur,” she says.

The actor is all set to start work. “I will resume to acting as soon as I get a good offer.  I want to take up some shows such as Jhansi Ki Rani or Kesari Nandan,” she says.

There is a belief that actresses don’t get much work after marriage and thus, they delay marriage. However, Kajol doesn’t agree. “I feel that there’s no specific age limit to get married. The time you feel you are ready, you can go ahead in life. When you are ready to take up the responsibilities and ready for commitments, you should take the plunge. Initially, I was sceptical but eventually, I realised it's not about age, it’s all about your maturity,” she says.
