While the latter can kill, the former can destroy those targeted. In short, Life is Short is a story that needed to be told, lest mortals who are revered, start believing they are Gods. Conveniently forgetting that life is short." says writer-director Vikram Razdan whose 27-minute short film, “Life is Short” is set against a showbiz backdrop."Life is Short" features Liliput, whose life-size performances have dwarfed many a seasoned actor in the past. Vikram's late father K. Razdan was a prolific as well as popular film PR person in the 70's. Enacting Abdul, the meek manager of the abusive & arrogant actor Debika, portrayed by Tanishaa Mukerji, their dramatic duels climax into an edge-of-the-seat, eye-opening ending.Did she draw any real life inspirations from any hyper heroine’s lifestyle? "Though I have often heard sordid stories of many a schizophrenic superstar, I definitely haven’t aped any such actor whilst enacting Debika. But yes, this is the first time I have played a dark & delusional character, And that’s what attracted me to play this part", exults Tanishaa. Explaining his role, Liliput also throws light on actors often attempting to enact dwarf characters in the past & present, “Life is Short, somewhere touched a personal chord. Hence I empathised with Abdul’s character. Its heartening to have watched Kamal Hasan play Appu Raja in the 90’s. And whilst the world awaits SRK play the dwarf in Zero, all I can say is that its not the physicality but only the performance, that can stand tall, in front of the audience.” says Liliput, who seems to be India’s only answer to Peter Dinklage, who portrays Tyrion in Game of Thrones. "LIFE IS SHORT" was screened for the first time at the NFDC Film Bazaar in Goa, at IIFI 2018 on 22nd November. For more Bollywood updates, follow Bollyy!
