KAL SHAAM MAINE EK INSAAN ME INSAANIYAT KO ZINDA DEKHA.... BY ALI PETER JOHN

I had not seen a film in a multiplex for more than three years An invitation to see a film called "Mere Desh Ki Dharti" attracted me to see the film because I had seen Manoj Kumar's "Upkar" in which this line was made immortal by Manoj Kumar and his team - Ali Peter John

I had seen Manoj Kumar's film when I was fifteen years old in an atmosphere I cannot describe now ..... I had become a devoted admirer of Bharat and Manoj Kumar .... But, this was a very different kind of film, made in modern times by modern people ...

I had expected the people who invited me and knew me to take of me, especially my much talked about broken foot ....

Yes, they were very kind and put a glass of coffee in my hand and forgot all about me.... They they gave me a seat where there was space to save my foot ....

But soon some noisy children and women turned that space into a play ground and kept running up and down ...

And I was scared about their further damaging my foot .... I tried to find some relief by seeing the film, but alas ! The show got over and I was like a man from some other planet...

I tried to find my way to the lift and young men took pleasure in leading me in all the wrong direction while wild crowd kept running all around me ....

I saw a very bleak and painful evening for myself ... Till a young man recognised me in the lift and said he knew me and would lead me down

He held my hand and took me right out to the main road and put me in an auto and asked the driver to leave me wherever I wanted ....

I was lucky that evening because even the auto driver was kind and left me home without asking me any questions, complaining or grumbling like most other auto drivers ....

I looked back, I looked all around to see where that youn man with a heart of snow was, but i couldn't find him anywhere....

All I remember is that his name was Faiz Khan ( I am sorry if I have missed out on his correct name ) .... But that night I slept peacefully because I knew that humanity was still alive in some human beings .... Thank you, Mr Khan for keeping humanity alive.
