In our previous edition of Mayapuri, we discussed the holy festival of Gau Mahotsav celebrated at the Sanyas Ashram and the Indian Planetary Society, Paramarth Seva Samiti, and Gujrati Seva Samaj at Sanyas Ashram Vile Parle, Mumbai, in honor of our revered mother cow - a symbol of global motherhood in Indian culture. The event was presided over by Swami Vishveshwaranand Giriji Maharaj, with the blessing of the revered Shri Morari Bapu and graced by the presence of several prominent figures from our country  including the notable Shri Prem Ramannand Sagar from Indian film and TV industry , who was invited as a guest of honor. During the program, the chief, Swami Vishveshwaranand Giriji Maharaj, and all the dignitaries reminisced about the etarnal, Amar Mega TV series 'Ramayana' - a modern-day rendition by Dr. Ramanand Sagar, known as the Tulsi Das of this era, and praised his son Shri Prem Sagar for following his father's footsteps and carrying on his legacy through his filial piety and honoring the sanskarik  debt of a son towards  their father,

During that festival, Shri Prem Sagar announced something special that brought joy to every Indian. It is evident that Indians had been awaiting this declaration for a long time. Prem Sagar announced the creation of a grand series dedicated to the sacred cow, which is revered as the universal mother, in Indian culture. This announcement filled every true Indian with joy to the core. The desire that had been waiting to be fulfilled for so many years was finally going to come true. When I spoke to Shri Prem Sagar about his announcement of the mega-show, Kamadhenu , during the cow festival, he shared with me an astonishing fact from his life that left me amazed.amadhenu The Mega-Series (8)
This incident inspired legendary filmmaker Dr. Ramanand Sagar to take a break from his blockbuster films and encourage every Indian to celebrate their Hinduism. Remembering the divine event, Prem Sagar said, "This happened in the year 1986, a year before the serial 'Ramayana' was made. The entire Sagar family was busy with their daily rituals in their Sagar villa bungalow. Papa ji (Dr. Ramanand Sagar) was feeding the pigeons on the terrace as usual. This was his daily ritual. (We always have many bags of millet stocked in our lift-cum-storage room) Papa ji considered each pigeon to be a reincarnation of a sage or a sage's disciple. He would call one pigeon 'Bhrigu Rishi,' another 'Vashistha Rishi,' another 'Atri,' and yet another 'Pulastya.' So, Papa ji was on the roof and everyone else was busy with their morning chores."

Suddenly, our watchman came running up to the roof of our bungalow and gasped, "Everyone come down quickly and see what has happened! A pregnant cow has given birth to a calf right at the gate of our bungalow."  When we rushed down to see what happened , we witnessed the beautiful sight of the radiant mother cow giving birth to a pristine white calf . We were all amazed by this divine sight. Immediately, we  brought the mother cow and her calf to a safe place behind the gate in our lawn and gave her good quantity of chickpeas and jaggery to eat. We cleaned the mother and baby, gave them a bath and after some time, they both walked out of the gate, healthy and strong. Since then, our house never ever faced any problem and from that day everything turned out smoothly in our family . It was after this incident that the epic 'Ramayana' was written, produced, released and a history was made. We all believe that on that day, the divine cow Kamadhenu had come to our house and blessed our father and the whole family before leaving. That day, my father and we all resolved to create a magnificent series on Mother Kamadhenu. Now, thirty-five years later, the time has finally arrived with five years of relentless research, we are fully prepared to create a mega-series on 'Kamadhenu' on a grand scale.

Just like the mega TV series 'Ramayana' created a wave of Hinduism among the masses in India, and people of all ages became familiar with the divine life of Lord Rama, the entire world was engulfed in Ramayana fever. Similarly, it is now time to raise awareness about the sacred cow, 'Kamadhenu', and launch a campaign to educate people about her significance. This mega series will cover the time frames of both the Treta and Dwapar Yugas, featuring renowned characters such as Parashurama, Arjuna, Vashistha Muni, and even the churning of the ocean. It will also showcase Krishna and Radha in Goloka. This series will be produced on a grand scale, with a mission to educate all Indians about the importance of Kamadhenu. Our aim is to fill every individual with respect, emotions, and love towards our Mother Cow, Kamadhenu.
Everyone should know from where the Gau Mata Kamdhenu was created. Actually Kamdhenu was created by Lord Krishna, from the baam side (left side) of his lotus hand.

Shri Krishna's niwas sthan (places) like Goverdhan, Gokul, and Golok are all associated with Gau Mata. This concept is universal and still not fully developed. Our goal is to continue the work of Papaji, who illumined the idea with the light of his wisdom and Bhakti towards Hinduism, Lord Rama and the sacred mother Kamdhenu. I being his beloved son, have taken the duty to carry on his legacy. Papaji's desire  for the Katha (Devine story) of Ram to reach every person around the world so that the whole world can be filled with the glory of Ram, was fulfilled With the completion of the Ramayana mega-series.
I asked Prem Ji, "When did Ramanand Sagar decide to make the series on 'Kamadhenu'?"

To this, Prem Ji replied, "It was back in 1986 when Gau Mata, Kamdhenu (sacred cow) came to our bungalow's gate and gave birth to a calf. That was the day when Papaji (Doctor Ramanand Sagar) and all of us made a resolution to create a series on Gau Mata Kamdhenu, increasing the knowledge, devotion, and respect for mother cow in every household. Everyone should realize that the true mother of the universe is Gau Mata, and she is the mother of all..

My father constructed a personal Mandir on the second floor of our bungalow.
One day, while at my father's Mandir , I saw a small statue of Kamadhenu that left me astonished. Years later, when I went to Madras, I came across a three to four-foot Tanjore painting of Kamadhenu that was embossed with gold, at an antique dealer's home. It seemed like Kamadhenu's shadow followed me everywhere. When a Shankh (conch shell) was brought at our home,  I did not realize it was a Kamdhenu conch until later. During the Churning of the Ocean, one of the fourteen treasures that emerged was Kamdhenu, along with the conch shell. Mother Kamdhenu  also emerged from the churning of ocean (Samundar Manthan) during this event. According to the legend, when Lord Krishna and Radha were sitting together, Radha suddenly became thirsty. Krishna created a cow from his left palm and gave Radha milk to drink. A few drops of milk was spilled, creating the Kshirsagar (milky ocean).

Gau Mata asked Shri Krishna, "You created me, but what is my purpose?" Shri Krishna replied, "You will reside in the seventh pataal lok , and when the ocean will be churned, you will rise again from it and bless the whole world with your amrit dugdh (milk). And yes, When the ocean was churned, Kamadhenu emerged. This story is vast and includes mentions of Ashwatthama and Dronacharya and lots and lots of mythological characters and events.

Prem Ji, who had the Devine desire to fulfill his commitment to create a series on Gau Mata after so many years, said, "After our television Superhit show 'Ramayana' , we continued to work on many mythological stories one by one. However, just as you cannot go to a pilgrimage site without an cosmic invitation from the Gods there, the same way, we are only now able to create 'Kamadhenu' because we received an order from above. Today's environment is filled with the light of eternal traditions. The celebrations of Gau Mahotsav and Govardhan Puja are being celebrated with great fanfare.

Today, Kamadhenu is the most important issue in our country. Just like when the 'Ramayana' series aired, the whole country became immersed in Ram devotion. Before that, there was never any discussion on this subject. Today's generation gained knowledge of the Ramayana after watching the series. At that time, God created the great Saint Ramanand Sagar as a nimit (for the sake of) to create the 'Ramayana' and spread it to every household. The same way, perhaps, the Higher Power has chosen me as an instrument to create the Kamadhenu series, and everything is only being created by the Higher Power in the time and kaal it decides."
