Chachi 420 (Chachi 420, 1997) 

This film needs to be introduced because Kamal Haasan took this film to the highest level and even today this film is highly appreciated by the audience. This film was directed by Kamal Haasan himself, in which he, Tabu, Amrish Puri and Om Puri starred. The story revolves around a boy who is desperate to be with his child after a divorce from his wife. For this, he disguises himself as a woman and enters Tabu's house. This movie is a fun family movie that can be re-watched anytime! 

Nayagan (Nayagan, 1987)

Nayagan is the first recommendation under Kamal Haasan films in our list. This 1987 film was directed by none other than Mani Ratnam, the most famous director of the South Indian film industry. It also stars the talented Saranya Ponvannan. The story revolves around Velu Nayagan, who witnesses the brutal murder of his father by corrupt policemen in the city of Mumbai. As a result, he becomes a gangster and seeks revenge against those who murdered his father and destroyed his family.

Saagar (1985) 

Directed by Ramesh Sippy, this film starred Rishi Kapoor, Kamal Haasan, Dimple Kapadia and Nadira. The film was the second instance in the history of the Filmfare Awards in which an actor was nominated for both Best Actor as well as Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He won the Best Actor award, which became his first and only award for Hindi films in this category. 

Sadma (1983)

The film Sadma was a remake of the 1982 Tamil film Moondram Pirai and also starred Kamal Haasan along with Sridevi. Kamal, Sridevi, Gulshan Grover and Silk Smita starred in 'Sadma'. This film has a cult status! 

Sanam Teri Kasam Sanam Teri Kasam (1982) 

Kamal Haasan, Reena Roy, Jagdeep and Kader Khan acted in the film Sanam Teri Kasam and it was directed by Narendra Bedi. The film was a blockbuster at the box office and was also successful in big cities. The story of the film revolves around a rich man whose past comes back to haunt him when he discovers that one of his employees is his long-lost son. But then comes the love angle. Which becomes interesting and worth watching.
