Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut is bold and knows how to call a spade a spade. The actress speaks her mind and is amongst the very few actors who have talked about pay parity.
While interacting with a leading daily, Kangana talked about the need for women to stand together. Kangana said; “When I was fighting for equal pay, many women from my industry started fake articles that they are getting this, that. They started hiking their salaries through their PRs. They do not understand how they are harming themselves. What (change) can happen like this- by running someone down and overriding their cause with your own personal agendas? We have got to collectively fight for it. Women have such an inferior complex that they genuinely believe ki itna mil raha hai bahot hai, aur kya chahiye tumko (You are already getting so much. Why do you want more?)”
Earlier Kangana talked about the issue and said; “here are women in the industry who say that if actresses are unable to bring in crowds
"Personally, my logic for remuneration has always been that I have 365 days to work, as much as any male star. An actor's pay must be determined by the amount of work s/he does. Your gender is no yardstick for it,” Kangana added.
