2017 has been quite a tough year for Kapil Sharma. From his closest friends quitting The Kapil Sharma Show to Kapil being sent to rehab at an Ayurvedic centre in Bengaluru, the year has been exhausting for the comedian both on a professional and personal front. However, things now seem to be looking up for him.
Kapil returned to Mumbai on Sunday, without completing his treatment, reports DNA. Kapil had a severe addiction to alcohol and was advised to take a 40-day-detox in order to cure it, but left the rehab after 12 days owing to work commitments. Nevertheless, his close friend told DNA that Kapil is recovering and has stopped drinking now.
“Kapil is feeling much better. I can sense the changes in him. He had been pushing himself too far during the last few years. His mind and body gave warning signals. He wasn’t taking these warnings seriously. Now, finally, God planned this break for him. And it has done him a world of good. Kapil has stopped drinking completely, at least, for now,” Kapil’s close friend told DNA. “He needed to return to Mumbai to complete his film Firangi and start promoting and marketing it for its November release,” Kapil’s friend said.
When inquired about the return of TKSS, his friend confirmed that the show will return next year. He said, “The show will return only when Kapil has fully recovered. Kapil has realised health is the most important thing in life. As for the show, it is very dear to him and it isn’t going anywhere.”
