It is hard to sink in that the little twins of Karan Johar have turned 1. It feels like it was yesterday that Karan Johar announced about the birth of his twin babies Yash and Roohi who were born via surrogacy. He earlier had kept their little bunnies in veil but once he shared their pictures,

internet broke down on their cuteness. The world was talking about how he chose to give their kids the name of his parents. Karan himself was ecstatic as this was the highest award he could ever get.

Karan expressed his joy of becoming a father at the age of 44 saying, “I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent of these two pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science.” Karan has been very verbal about his feelings for his kids and how now he wants to be more fit and thus parenthood made him hit the gym and lose weight.

Karan once wrote a heartfelt letter to his kids explaining as to how he wants his kids to be independent;  “Will your kids take your legacy forward?” My father never forced me to do what I’m doing. In fact, he did not want me to do what I’m doing. He wanted me to branch out of the industry, so, likewise, I don’t want you to do what is expected just because I have a company and have built a legacy. You don’t have to take my company forward if you are not inclined towards the film business. Instead, I wish that I bring you up to become people who are fiercely independent in your choices, opinions and your individual lives. The legacy, if any, I want to pass on is the independence that I was given.”
