Kareena Kapoor Khan Shows Her Dedication To Her Work Even On A Dance Reality Show

I have had rare occasions of watching Kareena Kapoor dancing according to her mother's (Babita) directions and she mostly wanted to dance to some of the popular songs of her star-sister Karishma Kapoor and the only other actress she likes imitating was Sridevi because of her excellence at classical dancing. I had first nasty experience with her when she had made it as a star. The management of my company wanted her to dance at the  ‘Screen Awards Night' and we went to her house which she was sharing with her sister, Karishma. She didn't even allow her inside her house and stood at the entrance and asked, “kya kaam hai mujhse?"The General Manager of my company (Indian Express) asked her if she would dance at our show. She didn't even bat an eyelid and said, “give me a cross of rupees and I will even dance nude on your stage". We didn't wait for a minute and left and had made up our minds that we would never ask her to dance or perform in our stage....

Time has passed and Kareena has grown into a full-fledged star and a capable dancer and more than anything else, she has her head very much on her shoulders and rarely makes brash statements, even though she can be quite shocking when it comes to her dancing movement in screen and the costumes she wears during these sensuous dances which become more sexy and makes her look more desirable.

There were many of her critics and rivals who were very sure that her career would come to an end after she had married the already married Saif Ali Khan and specially when she became the mother of a kid star like Taimur Ali Khan.

But Kareena has proved all of them wrong with her decisions taken after she became Mrs Kareena Kapoor Khan.

She is now doing some of the most daring roles in films and has surprised one and all by taking to the small screen in a big way. Kareena has been receiving many other offers to do roles on the small screen, but she has been turning them down. But there has to be something special about this dance reality show called “Dance India Dance" which is being aired on Zee TV which has made her take her time, but has made her finally agree to do it...

And she seems to be dedicated and determined about shining out as a judge (Rafftar and Remo D'Souza are the other two judges). She has already started shooting for the dance reality show, but what she did last week was a big surprise to all those who know Kareena and her mild and wild ways...

She was holidaying with Saif and Taimur in London, but when it was time for her to complete her work in “Dance India Dance", she cut down her holiday, left Saif and Taimur in London and returned home to create some kind of a record by shooting for eight days at a stretch and for long hours but without making any compromises when it came to the quality of the show. It was only when she was satisfied with what she had done and the entire team was happy with her work that she returned to London to continue her vacation with Saif and Taimur. Observers of this new Kareena were taken by one big surprise by the hard work she put in into the making of the dance reality show. She is expected to come back to the show after her well deserved vacation with her small and loving family.

It was not so easy for her to take the decision to do this show at a time when she has been touching the top as a leading lady, but with her own confidence and her conquering her own nervousness and the constant support of Saif, she could not only do the show, but also show that she could do a small screen appearance in a much serious manner because she realised that working for a dance reality show like “Dance India Dance" was as big, ambitious, and adventurous job and she realised how an actor or actress should not look down on the small screen “because work is work whether it is for the big screen or the small screen".

And according to many and even some one like me who has had one cruel and nasty experience with her about money, she would not do anything if she was not paid not only well, but very well. And now according to very reliable sources, it is learnt that the price she has been paid for the show has not yet been paid to any star of the big screen who has made the great transformation to work for small screen which was once looked down on by every big actor till Amitabh Bachchan made it respectable and really big with “Kaun Banega Crorepati".

It seems like it is now for the channel to be nervous because it has already shelled out crores of rupees on the show, especially on the fee charged by Kareena. The show has no other way but to succeed and for that to happen, they will have to pamper Kareena till the end of the show or face the consequences which cannot be good under any circumstances. “Dance India Dance" is a once in a way experience for the channel and if it succeeds, it can go on dancing or god forbids, if it doesn't..... Will they blame Madam Kareena Kapoor Khan for it. A line spoken by a production controller is something I will never forget. He said, “ek toh yeh bade ghar ki kalakaar doosra, yeh ek raesszadde ki biwi aur ussse bhi badkar, yeh ek pucci Sindhi. Iss show ko aur channel ko upparwaala hi bachchaye."
