KARNATAKA GOVT DENIES PERMISSION FOR SUNNY LEONE'S NEW YEAR EVENT

After observing some of the recent instances, it seems that different religious groups are overly concerned about their Indian/state culture and traditions.  They try to teach some unnecessary lessons about Indian/state culture for which they are continuously targeting people and different groups, especially Bollywood. After Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati row, another storm emerged over a New Year’s Eve party in Bengaluru featuring Sunny Leone, with a section of Kannada activists and some other fringe groups demanding event's cancellation. The reason was given by them is Sunny's  participation in the New Year event is an assault on the Kannada culture.

Yes, It sounds wired but its true that the religious group Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene had threatened to commit mass suicide if Sunny Leone's New Year event is not cancelled.  After massive protests from pro-Kannada group, Karnataka Home Minister has denied permission for the New Year eve event.

According to the protesters, "We are against Sunny wearing short clothes. If she wears saree and takes part in the event, even we'll go watch her. Sunny doesn't have a good past. We shouldn't be encouraging such people. We will not hesitate to commit suicide on December 31."

"These organisers are bringing someone who acts in blue films to do a bar dance here, she doesn't understand Kannada culture or history. Our youth and students will get spoilt if they see something like this" said Harish, an office-bearer of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sena."

But on the other hand, the organiser of the show said, "This is a family-type programme with Sunny dancing on a Kannada song, and I, being a Kannadiga, have kept the programme's standard based on the Bengaluru culture itself. Even though Sunny got a lot of events that offered her more money, she rejected those and agreed to come to Bengaluru since Bengaluru and Hyderabad are her favourite places. I don't know what the protestors are expecting or what they think; this is a family show where the culture of the state won't be disturbed."

The event is being organised by The Times Creation Company in association with 93.5 red FM and in which the actress supposed to perform along with international DJs along with Bollywood and Kannada rappers. The performance was scheduled to take place at the White Orchid, which is adjacent to Manyata Tech Park.

This was not the first time that Sunny Leone is visiting Bengaluru for an event. She has also acted in a Kannada film titled  DK.
