Kartik Aaryan, Karan Johar end rumors of feud, announce new film on actor's birthday

Kartik Aaryan Birthday: After two years of the casting controversy regarding the film Dostana 2, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar have finally ended their rift. Karan Johar announced a film with Kartik on his official Instagram account on the actor's 33rd birthday. The film will be co-produced by Ekta Kapoor.

Sharing the announcement on social media, Karan Johar wrote, “Starting today with some special news on a special day! Excited to announce the coming together of @dharmamovies and @baljimotionpictures for a film directed by the exceptionally talented @sandeipm. I feel excited to announce the extremely talented @kartikaaryan as our hero for this story, which will hit the theaters on August 15, 2025! Kartik, happy birthday to you…may our collaboration only grow from strength to strength from hereon and never cease to create magic on the big screen. Ekta Kapoor, being your friend is easily the best thing and now working with you will be no different!!!

Why was there a rift between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar?

In 2021, Karthik's "unprofessional" Rumors of Karan Johar being harassed by his behavior surfaced online and it was said that the actor is no longer a part of Dostana 2. Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya were going to join Karthik in this film. Dharma Productions had announced Dostana 2 in 2019.

Karthik will next be seen in Kabir Khan's Chandu Champion. The film is based on the extraordinary real-life story of a sportsperson and his spirit of never giving up. Directed by Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion also stars Katrina Kaif and Shraddha Kapoor. This film is expected to be released on 14 June 2024.
