The 10th Anniversary edition of KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival will be held from June 12 - 16, 2019 at two of the city's iconic theatres – Liberty Carnival Cinemas and Metro INOX.South Asia’s biggest and India’s first mainstream LGBTQ film festival, KASHISH 2019, will screen over 160 Films from 40 Countries, along with red carpet events like opening gala, glittering awards ceremony, power-packed panel discussions, filmmaker interfaces and a vibe that is unmatched.The festival is considered one of the important annual events in Mumbai’s cultural calendar and attracts audiences from across India and international guests. Mathukutty, a transexual wants to get out of the pressure of being a man, which mentally he wasn’t, finally deciding to undergo surgery and become a woman. He/She becomes Marykutty and his problems start when she comes back to her native place. Though her family disowns Marykutty, it is the parish priest, who gives her all the confidence. She is determined to become a sub Inspector and joins a coaching institute to prepare for the exam. In between, she earns considerable appreciation in that area, as a Radio Jockey in the FM channel run by the church but will she be able to fulfill her dream of joining police force as a sub inspector?

SONG LANG

A sudden bond arises between two men, a hard-boiled debt collector and a delicate Cai Luong opera actor. With the help of the latter the earlier faces his traumatic past. Instead of being a gangster, could he still change the direction of his life? The film is a tribute to the Vietnamese folk opera in its 1980s golden era glory, and it ponders traditional arts in the modern world.
