Kavea R Chavali – An Engineer Turned In To An Award Winning Anchor And An Actor

As they say ' where is the will there is the way'. Kavea R Chavali perfectly fits into this saying.
In spite of coming from an engineering background she followed her heart and in a very short span of time, she became an award-winning television and event anchor/presenter. Also, she has proved her acting skills in an episode of AIB 'A friends bestie’ & in a Web series named 'Pushpavali' at Amazon Prime.

Here is what she told about her passion, life and more.

​How did you start your career?

I started my professional life as an engineer, but in the back of my mind, I always wanted to shift in the dream city 'Mumbai'. After 2 years of experience as an anchor in Banglore I took a break for 6 months and then started doing live shows in Mumbai in the year 2010, then I didn’t look back.

How did you get the opportunity to work with AIB as ‘Boobita’?

I have a twin sister Ramya and we both have an experience in theaters, as they were looking for identical twins many people suggested our name we got a call from them while we were enjoying a friend’s wedding, later after reading the script and the name ‘Boobita’ we hopped on the boat.

What are your suggestions for those who want to make their career in this field?

So, Earlier there was very less competition but today with the rise of social media and more people inclining towards entertainment segment there is cut throat competition.

The first thing I learnt from my experience is that be self-motivated all the time and be very innovative in terms of your content and ideas. You never know what will hit the market just like ‘Kiki Challenge’.

When you take a project what are your decision points to go ahead with it?

First thing I look into, is the type of show. Secondly, who are my audience and then tonality. Also, I do a lot of R & D after taking the project to bring my own spice in the show.

Will you leave anchoring if you start getting more opportunities as an actor?

No, because anchoring includes lots of acting and energy which keeps the practice on.
But yes, I reduced the number of shows from 8-10 as I got many scripts to work on.
