‘Khaata rahey, Mera dil’ ?-- Virat Kohli to start restaurant in Kishore Kumar’s bungalow partial premises....

“Eat to your heart’s content”, goes the popular adage. Maybe we can now tweak ( modify) the song mukhdaa of ‘Gaata Rahe Mera Dil’ and instead sing ‘Khaata Rahey, Mera Dil ’ !! - Chaitanya Padukone

That’s because, iconic batsman-cricketer Virat Kohli has reportedly leased out a large part of legendary most-versatile singer-actor Kishore Kumar's Juhu-based ‘Gouri Kunj’ bungalow compound and is fast developing it into a high-grade premium restaurant.

The popular tourist-spot for music lovers is fast undergoing a major uplift and the restaurant is almost ready. The dynamic Virat will start the restaurant, sometime next month.

Confirming this, eminent pop and playback singer-composer Amit Kumar disclosed that it all began when Leena Chandavarkar's singer-son Sumeet met Virat a few months ago and the two got talking. "We have leased out the space to Virat for five years," Amit Kumar added.

The star-cricketer already owns two restaurants in Delhi, with chains in other cities. However, this new restaurant will be hugely different, thanks to its iconic Bollywood ( Kishore-da) connection.

The popular cricketer’s new eatery is going to be located inside Kishore Kumar’s historic home Gouri Kunj in Juhu, Mumbai. This means that retro-music fans and Kishore-da’s ardent fans will be able to visit the legendary singer and actor’s home while indulging in a good meal.

Kishore Kumar’s son, Amit Kumar, confirmed to me that Virat will be taking over a part of the Kumar residence in Juhu. According to him, the bungalow is already going through a major facelift and is all set to open sometime by end of next month.

The iconic sportsperson Virat owns a chain of restaurants and bars in the capital. His chain of restro-bars called ‘One8 Commune’ has already popped up in different cities. You can visit Kohli’s One8 Commune not only in Delhi’s Aerocity, but also in Kolkata and Pune. In 2019, the cricketer started another restaurant called ‘Nueva’ in South Delhi’s R. K. Puram.

Amit Kumar personally informed me on phone that as of now the new restaurant name will also be called ‘One8 Commune’ which is Virat’s jersey number.. Will they name some of the exotic dishes and delicious desserts ( mishti) after Kishoreda’s famous songs like ‘Saagar Kinaare’, ‘Chalte Chalte’ ‘Mere Jeevan Saathi’, ‘Zindagi Ek Safar’, ‘Eena Meena Deeka’ ‘Ek Chatur Naar’ or movie titles like ‘Jhumroo’, ‘Ziddi’ , Aradhana, Half-Ticket’, Padosan or ‘Mehbooba’ etc ?
