Kishori Shahane talked about her upcoming show and her character

After being a part of the show ‘Gum hai Kisi ke Pyaar Mein’ for three years, now you are returning with this show, how are you feeling?

People gave a lot of love to ‘Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein’. I was associated with the character of Bhavani for three years. Now I am moving towards a new stage with this show ‘Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye’. This show is going to air on Zee TV in which I am playing the character of Babita Ahuja.

 How tough a decision was it to find a show of the same level after a hit show that was on the top of the TRP table, and how did you decide to become Babita Ahuja in this show?

When the director and producer of 'Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein' told me that your character is now over in this show, I was a little sad. I felt that this should not have happened, I thought that as long as the show continued, I too would stay. It took me two months to say yes to the new show. There were offers from many shows but when you are signing a show you have to keep many things in mind, your character should be important, the production should be good, the channel should be good, and the location should be a good place. I was just thinking about all these things when suddenly one night a call came and asked me if you had signed any show, I said you have not signed it yet, and he said you wait till the morning and we will talk to you. In the morning, I got a call from Mukta, the producer of this show, she explained the concept of the show, and I liked her character very much. Bhavani's character was from a small town, she had conservative thinking but Babita's character is completely different from that. Babita is from South Delhi and belongs to a rich family, there is a contrast in both the characters. Mukta is very popular and has been the creator of many shows, so if she makes a show then she will make it good, I have faith in her and the channel is also Zee TV and that is why I said yes to the show.

What do you think makes this show special?

This show is based on modern ideas. Richness is the contrast of poverty. There is a contrast between the two cultures, Marathi and Punjabi. People believe that girls should get married between 24 to 25 years and this girl is 29 years old and is not married. There are such confrontational things and people will get to see such squabbles. My character's past is such that she wants to keep her distance from poor people. This is not only a romantic story but every character has its own layers in it.

Talking about the family of your show ‘Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein’, Neil and Aishwarya are a part of Bigg Boss 17, so have you seen anything? How do you like them both?

In today's event, I will talk only about this show, otherwise when you meet again, we will talk about something else.

If you want to share some memories related to Ma'am Mayapuri Magazine?

Mayapuri has been a very popular magazine, I like it very much. This is such a colorful magazine. They have kept their record, it has been going on for so many years, and otherwise many magazines have been closed due to the closure of print media. This has been running successfully for so many years. My cover has also appeared in this magazine. When I was working as the main lead heroine, my pictures used to appear in this magazine. My son Bobby Vij was also been covered by Mayapuri when he became Mr. Gladrags. Mayapuri is read in every house, it is a lovely magazine, and I hope that Mayapuri continues like this in the future too.

What would you like to say to your fans?

I would just like to say that just like you have loved my other characters to date, similarly please love my character Babita Ahuja also. This is a very cute show, it will definitely entertain you. Must watch 'Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye' on Zee TV at 10 pm.
