Earlier, reports suggested that Kriti Sanon and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be pairing up for Vishal Bhardwaj's next project. While that project has not yet taken off, latest reports suggest that Vishal has roped in Kriti for another interesting project about sibling rivalry. The film is reportedly titled Churiya (meaning sharp knives) which revolves around sibling rivalry between two sisters and how their relationships turn abusive in the long run.
While Kriti will be playing the young sister, the hunt for the elder sister is on.
According to media reports, Vishal approached many actors, including Parineeti Chopra, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonakshi Sinha and Shraddha Kapoor, for playing older sister in the film. He even made them deliver screen tests. He is yet to arrive at a name. But, according to the buzz, actresses Vaani Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha are in the talks to play the role of an elder sister.
On the work front, Vishal Bhardwaj was keen to adapt the book The Exile: The Stunning Inside Story of Osama Bin Laden And Al Qaeda In Flight for the silver screen. The film was supposedly titled Abbottabad, but it seems for now the filmmaker wants to focus on his new project ‘Churiya’ with Kriti Sanon.
After Churiya, Vishal plans to kick off another project titled Padeeu along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. However, the project is currently on the back burner due to an alleged fallout with the actor.
