Filmmakers planned and hoped to make their most ambitious films and there was an atmosphere of optimism everywhere. It seemed like jannat had come down to earth.

Dreams where the staple diet of all those working in different fields of filmmaking. There were problems like the mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput and its after effects.

There was a war over nepotism and drugs which was apparently led by a "Queen" called Kangana Ranavat who gave the industry a bad name and continued to haunt the industry with some controversy in the other, till she herself made the biggest mistake of saying that India got Independence on August 15, 1947 as a bheek and that India got her real Independence in May 2014.

She even made consistent attacks on Mahatma Gandhi. She must have made headlines in the social media, but she was damned and doomed in bollywood, which was proved when her film "Thalaivii" flopped miserably at the box office.

Kangana is the only actress now who has five big films on hand and it is difficult to predict or even ordinarily say what will happen to these films and her future.

She has been quiet for some time now and I hope she remains quiet because it will help her as an actress and no one can deny that she is a very fine actress when she is not playing a role which is not going to help her in the long run.

When Kangana was my neighbor on Yaari Road, I could not even in my wildest dreams believe that she would be the Kangana she is today. Isiko kehte hain..yahan kal kya hoga kisne jaana...

Some where in early 2020, Aditya Chopra and his Yash Raj films were oozing with over confidence and this confidence inspired them to not only announce their new films and the dates of their launching, but also announced the dates of their release.

They had no idea of what was in store for them and even for the world. They had hardly started working on their plans when Covid 19 struck and like the ambitions and dreams of everyone else, their lofty dreams also collapsed.

The only film that was launched during the pandemic was "Pathaan" which was to be a kind of comeback film for Shahrukh Khan who had two big flops before he took a break.

The shooting of Pathaan went on for a while, but had to be called off several times due to the fear of the pandemic.

When last heard of, Shahrukh was to leave for Spain to shoot a major part of the film, but the pandemic had to force the unit to call off the shooting. Incidentally, Pathaan also suffered because of the controversy over Aryan Khan, the son of Shahrukh.

The film which was expected to be a major release in 2022 will certainly be released only in the late months of 2023.

The other films of Shahrukh which was to start this month, Attlee's film with Shahrukh and Nayantara, the superstar of the South will also be postponed till pandemic stops being a problem in continuing the shooting.

Rakesh Roshan had finished working the script of his next film with Hritik Roshan and was planning ways to shoot his film on exotic occasions in different parts of the world but the pandemic has led to the film being postponed indefinitely.

There are countless other small and medium scale film that were to go on the floor in the next few months but all those films now like dreams pushed into the cold storage and no one can say when those dreams will be realities.

There have been other dreams at that were seen by other ambitious men and women, but the kick of Covid 19 and now Omicron has sent all those dreams for a toss and the losses financially, creatively and humanly are difficult to even imagine.
